injuries sabotaged our OL in camp and continues to do so. Making it harder for everyone.

as for draft, picking OL high and consecutively isn't a safe recipe as you can be left with bust OL and no skill players. There have been times where you can get lucky with OL slipping down the draft board but that isn't consistent enough to make anyone feel that it's a lock.

and you can't say his offenses go no where when they have taken us to the highest you can go without having a number 1 OL.

I'm not saying we don't need to upgrade, we certainly do. And now is a time we can, as we have a lot of core pieces still in place.
We need O line way more in the draft than D line our D line is better than our o line.Does not matter how good we are on Defense because if they stop them this o line is going to give the ball back , but if we can control the clock or score a lot of points that can help make up for a sub par d line but it's not going to work the other way around.Bottom line just like the other posters said we are not going to win a Super Bowl until we fix the o. Line.

Defense wins championships

and we didn't lose the SB due to our OL

Not true at all

Trent has $60M reasons as to why he will be back next yr.

they aren't playing Trent if they're not competitive. He's not 25 yrs old and trying to get another deal.

We lost because of multiple things….one being the OL.

they gotta upgrade the trenches on both sides this off season.

When he was looking for a new deal last offseason at his age, they should have told him to report to camp. But John and Kyle want to be buddy buddy with the players.
I know I bring this up every week or so but what is exactly his injury? Now he's going IR. It's the most non talked about injury I recall in a long time. Did he tear something? Break something? I just hear ankle issue.

It still feels like he has tossed in the towel and retirement is imminent.

I don't buy it. And on the flip they have $60m they are about to feed to QB. So he should be protecting. The entire thing reeks.

Could be. But imo the season is lost. He went through personal hell. This is a very very chill move by the 49ers to just ir him. Let him get paid, But also just decompress.

He could retire but you better believe he's grateful for this action. My guess is he comes back rejuvenated next season for one more go and I bet you he tells them otherwise before the draft this time if that's the case. They really have always done him right.

He got his deal and then contributed next to nothing.

He was so s**tty when he did play this year. Especially early when he was taking himself out for oxygen.

I feel for what he went through but the fact he sat out then didn't show up makes me wish they would have just let him sit.

I hear you and he knows he handled that wrong imo. But that's who he is. The 49ers have held their heads high when it comes to him. If he's healthy and wants to I think he'll play fine next season. That being said I'm still taking a tackle rd1.

Why do you think he felt he ha died it wrong and what difference does it make?
I don't see him putting in the work going forward. He got his last big payday.

Hope I am wrong and I have nothing but love for his family.
