Can't be a rental, lose him and you put a rookie a LT?

That would be scary.

Jimmy G already throws a INT directly to defenders, his scary @$$ would throw 2-3 per game with a rookie LT.

Agreed lmao

I doubt it's a rental but if it is 49ers get a comp pick back plus can go after FA options or move Brunskill or Skule there if they've developed.

Like I said on page 16, Williams and his agent are gonna look at the Tunsil extension as a floor in negotiations. At least the WRs and TEs (well for now) are still on their rookie deals.

Salary cap makes it hard to maintain a top level roster.

He probably didn't veto the trade to Minny, just declined to talk extension. Agent and player probably knew 49ers were in play and wanted to reunite with Shananhan. They played it perfectly.

I saw somewhere he said he will never play with Kirk Cousins again lol.
Trenton Williams knows Cousins well. I think it speaks volumes that he'd rather play with Jimmy G than Kirk. Just saying.

Don't have those, but I think we all know Joe was better than average.

I knew they were in on Williams, and I'm so glad he's here.

I understand he sat out last year, but if his physical comes back good do you guys think we tack on another 4.5 mil to his deal this year and extend him another 3 years at 17 mil/yr which would bring his total contract including this year with the extra 4.5 mil added on to 68 mil for 4 years making him the second highest paid left tackle in the nfl?
I think it would be fair as long as the physical comes back clean and he is in football shape, what do you guys think?

He should play a season before we talk extensions

Great in pass pro, younger, restructured his contract...this lessens the blow of Staley leaving

Looking forward to those battles with Chandler Jones.
TW to Minny

I like getting Williams, and would like him to be here the nest 4-5 years, but if he wants too much money, then I am fine letting him play out this season, and see where we're at with him. We could franchise him can't we if need be? Here's where we get to see what Brunskill+Skule+Coleman can show this coming season, Brunskill might be our RG, or perhaps that guy we drafted in the 5th?
I threw this out the moment there was rumblings of Joe leaving and got a big no f**king way lol oops

Right now, or in a year?

If right now: He's six years older and didn't play at all last year.

If in a year: We need to see how well he plays this year first before actually knowing how much he's worth.

Tunsil also had the massive advantage of "you traded two 1sts for me, so you clearly see me as a franchise cornerstone. Pay me like one." Since we traded only a 5th and a future 3rd for Williams, he doesn't exactly have that same leverage.

Washington fans are even more triggered.

I don't blame them. Snyder and Allen may have missed out on a bigger return at the trade deadline.
