Kwon has a large dead cap hit through 2022, if cut. So I think he's on the team through 2022, unless traded. If I'm reading this right:
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kwon-alexander-16850/

We can assume TWilliams will take Staley's salary+. The + would come from Solly and Sherman contracts expiring. But we have to factor in Kittle/Warner/etc extensions. Anyway, if TW is the same TW of the past 5 years, I think Kyle will do whatever is necessary to retain him.

Post June-1st cut is much much more manageable

Maybe he balls out and gets traded, I can't see them keeping him and paying Warner big bucks.

Yup if Kyle has his way williams will be here LT (if he plays well).

I for sure see Kwon being here all of this coming season. Then they probably look to trade him assuming Greenlaw continues to progress and we extend Warner.
Trent seems to be showing everyone on IG that he is definitely in shape.

Kwon has a problem staying healthy and tackling. Love his fire and pass coverage ability BUT Dre played just as well...it's gonna be hard to keep him off the field. We can't pay two Off-ball LBers top end money.

Yeah this is a big yr for Ford!

Cut Kwon in 2 years when ya gotta pay Warner. But for next year he's worth the 6 mil extra it's cost to keep him.

I don't see Kwon being gone after this year. He's pretty important.

If there's an odd man out, it's going to be Ford IMO. He's a good player who makes us better but I'm not so sure he's going to be worth the $18M/year price tag in 2021-23. I think there's a 90% chance he's either gone or takes a pay cut after 2020. That would open the cap for sure (only $4.8M dead cap spread out over three years).

We need both of those guys to stay healthy for a change. Alexander is more replaceable than Ford in my view, so it's unfortunate he's on such a crap contract.

Just wanted to say again that I can't believe we got this freaking silverback beast. Those that never saw him play, be ready for
I went to a Redskins fan page to see their reactions, and like 90% of them are blaming Trent Williams for the problem and saying "good riddance". lol

Daniel Snyder has created some serious Stockholm Syndrome in DC for the fans to be blaming their homegrown, franchise LT for being "greedy" over blaming the dumpster fire that the organization has become. They're supposed to provide trustworthy, world class medical treatment, and they misdiagnosed his cancer. Trent refused to play for the team after that, and the fans are siding with their crappy FO over a guy who put in a decade as a perennial pro bowler for them.

He wasn't even greedy though. He was just upset team doctors didn't take his medical situation seriously. Cancerous tumors should be taken a lot more serious.

If we end up not having a season this year, it could be good for Ford. He would have an extra year to rest and treat that chronic knee condition. I would rather have a season but for him it could be beneficial.

I can't believe they made this trade too. Unbelievable how Lynch and Shanahan come up with these types of trades when they can. I have no doubt that Lynch could've pulled off the Khalil Mack trade if Mack was on a different team. And I have no doubt if OBJ was on a AFC team at the time they tried to trade for him that Lynch would've pulled that trade off too.

HUGE difference from Trent Baalke to John Lynch, I love it!!

But as much as this trade helps the offense, it also helps the defense. Nick Bosa had the opportunity to practice against Joe Staley every day in practice and now he has the opportunity to go up against Trent Williams every day in practice. Iron sharpens Iron!!!
