He'll make it easy to get those tough yards on 3rd and short. Our run game getting even better, making the pass game easier too.
Kyle gonna ask Williams to lose some weight lol

No joe is the only guy on the line athletically versatile enough to play guard or tackle. Joe would easily be a superstar Next to Center and he could beef up mcglinchey's pass Pro which sucks

He can, but he's better then both of our current tackles so I would kick one of them inside starting with the young guy MM. I Believe Staley is going to retire, if not won't we be over the cap with Williams contract? The question is can Staley play RT?

All of these are good points. But tackle was never the issue last year. Joe played well when healthy, as did Skule and Brunskill. The issue is guard.

Yeah, but if Staley is retiring then it's an issue.

I think Staley would be

Ya it will be Staley.

The only way WIlliams plays G, if he's just really out of shape and that year of football made him slower. Staley actually fits the G position much better anyways.
Put Staley at RG next to his buddy MCG

TW, LT, WR, JS, MM

Now that's an offensive line!!!

Wow, John Lynch is unreal. I can't believe he pulled this off.

For a 3rd and a 5th, that's a fantastic deal for a Pro Bowl OT who should have another 4 years left.

Dont forget to throw in that if he doesnt get signed its probably a 3rd round comp pick back.

Looks like he's excited to get started.

So Niners gave up a 5 this year and 3 next year. If he leaves, best case they get a 3 next year. So basically niners give up a 5 this year for Trent Williams. Wow.

The comp pick would be in 2022, but yes a 3rd is best case scenario. I think they'll work out a new deal, he knows Kyle, and this seems like a perfect fit, love it.

We fleeced the redskins

With reports out that trent blocked moving to the Vikings, it seems like he actually wanted to come here to SF and reunite with Shanny.

This might just be the skins giving in to Williams' demands and moving on asap.

If that's the case, be prepared to see Williams at his best.

This analysis certainly makes the most sense to me.

No, he was a LT his whole career. Not sure how I feel about this trade.

If Staley stays who is moving to G?
Passing on Wirfs makes much more sense now. When you consider that a future third is essentially viewed as equal to present day fourth round pick we got him long term for a 5th and 4th or as a rental for what would equate to a 5th and a 4th with us getting a third round Comp pick back. In other words the rental cost is more like a 6th or 7th in value. Ridiculous value on this trade. I bow to Lynch. Absolute stud of a gm.
So this year our draft looks like this?

-DBuck
+Kinlaw
+Aiyuk
+Dee Ford
+/-Eman rental
+4th
-4th to get Aiyuk
+T. Williams (rental?)

That's a helluva haul. And if we somehow manage to sign Williams an extension?! Wow.
