Depends if they see McKivitz as a guard in our scheme. If he's another Skule, then either Coleman moves to G or we cut Coleman to save salary cap.

Colton McKivitz was a four-year starter at West Virginia. He saw most of his playing time at RT, but he also saw some action at RG. He played LT as a senior. He could be a guar or tackle. It's possible he works his way into the competition for the starting job at RG. #49ers

The 49ers draft West Virginia offensive tackle Colton McKivitz with the fifth-round pick that they acquired from Miami in exchange for Matt Breida. There's obviously more potential value in an OL than a backup RB — *McKivitz is viewed with both guard and tackle potential*
