Either way it's not running it back lol. Brunskill played RG for like 2 weeks.
Good try though

Now you know why GM and I have been b***hing about the OL for 20 years. LOL
Since Young, man. Remember when we had Stone and Gogan at guard? Larry Allen? Those guys mauled everyone.

LOL. That's the literal definition of running it back. Using the exact same personnel as the previous year with, as you noted, Williams being > Staley.

Running it back is having the same players playing the same position...that was NOT the case.
Stop making s**t up dude....you're wrong, it's okay to admit it every once and a while regarding your hate with the OL.

And people complain when I ask a top 50 pick invested on a Center or Guard. If we could get an Alex Mack caliber Center I'd be happy as a pig in mud

OL threads wouldn't exist in here if we had an Alex Mack 2.0.

Had we done that this year with Cesar Ruiz wed still have the same isuses we had this year. It's more about the individual player being drafted then it is about where or at what pick he was taken.

True. Ruiz isn't as talented as Mack even though they were drafted around the same spot. But if he played C (not G) and in this system, we'd probably be way better off going forward. That's for sure.

What if the 9ers sign Alex Mack then draft Tyler LInderbaum? I'd say they are better off with Mack, LInderbaum and Aiyuk then Ruiz and whoever they'd get in rd 2 at WR in 2021.
Sample on Ruiz is way too small to know what he's gonna be yet one way or other.

You know I'm a big fan of the veteran transition. I always have been esp. at the crucial positions in QB, T, C, LB, etc.
And yeah, I've never claimed there was only one right answer.
I could be misremembering but I thought Mack was wicked smart which is one of the reasons he flourished in Kyle's system as the C calls all the PP sets. I don't remember Ruiz being special there.
Yeah, Ruiz is just getting started but Mack has HOF-like talent and I do think Ruiz would be better served at C going forward.

Guy has been put on the COVID IR list. If he doesn't play Sunday continuity keeps taking a hit, incredible.
