OC has been spending his time gameplanning not scouting college players You think we traded Buck and drafted Kinlaw b/c that was Saleh's vision?

I'm pretty sure ShanaLynch got an earful once they disclosed the Buckner trade plan to Saleh. Sure Saleh doesn't have the last word, but they'd be idiots not to ask the DC's opinion on defensive issues. In fact they probably already knew what Saleh thought even before the Buckner trade was thought up. That's how good coaches usually manage things. The HC, contrary to what you think, isn't a one man operation.

How did Colton do when he got reps this year? Can he replace Trent Williams if we can't retain Trent`s services?

Terrible for the first question. And lol f**k no for the second question.
well,. you got alot of people poo poohing the loss of trent so nothing shocks me

I don't think we are going to lose Trent. But as far as actually losing him, keep in mind it was Kyle that had a big role in drafting him, so I think (god forbid) if we do lose Trent, Kyle can draft another solid Left Tackle.

When did we start giving OC's credit for drafts?
Well, let me ask you why you think OC's have no input into a teams offensive draft picks?

Williams filled an obvious need at the time for them. Chris Samuels retired and they needed a LT. With that said, we can't act like we are replacing Kwame Harris here. This is a HOF LT. I'd rather sign him and try to bring in young talent to upgrade the O-line. I'm prepared for the alternative if we don't resign him however (should make signing our other top FAs easier).

I agree with you, position coaches and coordinators do have some input. But I'd credit that more to Mike than Kyle and it's not just because he's the HC/GM.

Kyles dad had some of the best OLines in the business back in their day. Agree, if we do lose out on the Tent Williams sweepstakes, there will be a lot of cap space to sign free agent OLinemen, that's not what I hope will happen though. This team is better with Trent at LT.

I think transitioning from Staley to Trent was a brilliant move, too bad it was kind of wasted by the crap year we had.

Hopefully a young and talented LT and Center will be on this team after the draft, in addition to Trent. Hope hope.

I'm thinking of some of those O-lines. I can still remember the names. Nalen, Schlereth, Jones. Hope we can get to that level.
I bet he gets called up now with McGlinchey to IR. Can play RG and RT. Want to see more of him.
Not that it means anything (because we clearly suck at talent evaluation), but arent they pretty high on this guy?

He was given the golden helmet mark. Which I guess means something.

Cant be any worse than MM. Watch him play great which means....our staff still sucks cause this guy has been riding the damn bench.
McG was having a solid season. the biggest issue on the line has been RG. I'd bet now with a new RT, brunskill gonna be even worse...

Yeah I didn't get it. This dude is our swing tackle but has only been practicing his bucket step and drop step at LT. That falls on the coaches
He can play RG and RT. Time to get him some work in. No need to play Compton.
Dude played well for the most part.

What games were you watching? McG has never been solid. If anything the oline has become much better without him. I hope he doesn't come back

Caused the hit that lead to the first INT and bad sack on the big drive but given the talent he faced, you gotta give him a ton of credit for more than holding up. He's not s guy you want starting two games but I'm proud of him.

What games were you watching? McGlinchey wasn't great but he was quite a bit better than Compton, especially as a run blocker. And since the 49ers already picked up his option for next season, he's definitely going to be back.
