Dude played well for the most part.

Caused the hit that lead to the first INT and bad sack on the big drive but given the talent he faced, you gotta give him a ton of credit for more than holding up. He's not s guy you want starting two games but I'm proud of him.

No doubt. Plus he was playing a position he's not used to so all things considered he did good.
Colton McKivitz deserves major props! I don't think we would have had a chance if he hadn't played so well.
He earned his $$ yesterday.

This was his first game and based on what we saw his potential is sky high.
Guaranteed no one predicted he would start a LT and play well against LARs front 4. Hat Off!

What games were you watching? McG has never been solid. If anything the oline has become much better without him. I hope he doesn't come back

What games were you watching? McGlinchey wasn't great but he was quite a bit better than Compton, especially as a run blocker. And since the 49ers already picked up his option for next season, he's definitely going to be back.

Actually Compton has been playing very well the last 6 weeks. His run blocking had been very good. Guy has only two penalties all season but has given up 4 sacks.

Compton has the best run blocking grade out of any lineman in the NFL right now. 😳 That is some weird s**t. Even though he was bottom five in pass blocking a couple weeks ago that's still about where Mike M was if you average the two grades

EVERYONE in the OL should get GAME BALLS... the OL coach should even get one..

well deserve !!

FUNNY tho, we've been playing as a very good unit since Glynch had gone out of the line up..

I would be surprised if he doesn't get traded. OL overall has actually played better without him.
Pretty sure we cut his ass, then brought him back....might have got lucky

Yeah Compton looks good. Glinchy was just bad all around and also unreliable. And couldn't keep his even weight under control.

McGlinchey was far better in 2021 than in 2020. The issue is his price to get what he offers verses what Compton offers at his price. McGlinchey is the better lineman (compare their pass protections and even though I'm not married to PFF ranks, compare that as well). MM will be back on the team and should. I am just wondering what the future holds for him longterm if he returns to full health. I am thinking Jaylon Moore can possibly hold down the RT spot, but we will see how the coaches feel after camp. I am hoping beyond hope that we can extend Tomlinson and that Banks unseats Brunskill at starting RG. It leaves MM as the odd man out, which may be a blessing because we need to get some linemen on rookie contracts in the starting lineup.

Tom Compton is a good backup. McKivitz is another. I wonder if they see him as a guy that can backup at both guard and tackle spots. If so, that bodes well for us. Brunksill would be a high quality swing tackle. We would just need one or two other rookies to round out this position group.

AGREE...

.. but I was hoping we'd start him over the useless Glynch
I want Laken back, but if he doesn't come back, I'm good with McKivitz at LG or RG, with Banks at LG.
Guy played very good for no snaps all season
Hope he is ready to go if Trent has to leave during the game this Sunday.
