Glad we brought him back, we need depth
YES... He needs to start at the RT position during OTA so that he can get some reps and see what he's made of.

Zero complaints about that deal. That's a pretty damn good contract; especially if he ends up our starter. Much better than what MM will be getting and MM isn't significantly better IMO

SALUTE to that deal !!! in 2 years, if or when he becomes a LEGIT starting RT in the league, then he can make his $$$
Very smart move.

And who knows - MCK might end up being very effective in the KS system.
Wild that Lynch said they were talking about moving McG last yr…that would mean they were good with Colton at RT heading into the season.

we all think they will/should take a OT with one of those 3rds, don't me shocked if they don't.

Except they cut him so that and this low swing T contract type contract kind of speaks to how they really feel about him, IMHO. Another guy who ended up on I.R. too. I'm not understanding all the faith in this guy at all. Lower end talent.

They better!

But to your point, the MM example is encouraging to me. Each off season, I try to think a year or two out like they do. That's why the Aiyuk trade talk was not surprising to me at all.

Even if McKivits is their starter and long term expectation
I still think they will look at a raw athletic talent day 3 to replace Trent Williams in 2 years.IIf Trent stays great, if he retires you are hopefully ready.

it is why Darnell Washington is so intriguing to me. If he performs at TE, that is a win, if he doesn't he can maybe make the transition to OT by the end of his rookie contract.

Funny you say that. Both MM and DL noted to keep an eye on T Leroy Watson. He's a former TE who converted to T and both said he looks pretty natural.

It makes sense, it is probably easier to find big TEs who can move with technique than it is OL.
Also less likely to end up with the weight gain issues some OL have.

Very true esp. if they also played basketball.

I mean if they were gonna move McG (which they said they were actively trying to do) who's the starting RT last yr?

who cares about his contract…why would you overpay him, when his market was not even remotely close to do that?

All I'm saying right or wrong, I bet they like him a whole hell of a lot more than people in here do.

So what low level talent only applies to OL and every other position outside of QB? Cause people been telling me overall talent level doesn't matter there lol.

also I'm with you they better draft some lineman
