They have absolutely nailed their calls on literally every other spot on the OL. Pretty sure that buys them the benefit of the doubt.

I mean the 49ers are finally giving this guy his shot and they added Feliciano and Pryor. Maybe Shanahan thinks highly enough where he doesn't have to spend his top picks on. Not too sure about Pryor but I heard and read some good things about Feliciano.

Best ever hunh? The emotional overreactions are just

Dawand Jones and Freeman were on the board, we don't pick again until the 5th and we take a ****ing kicker and a ****ing broken tight end.

Seahawks and Eagles got better.

This front office is so ****ing dumb. Holy ****.

K. Still a hyperbolic overreaction IMHO.

Seahawks and Eagles got new talent, but those players are not guaranteed to live up to their draft status. Maybe they got better, maybe they didn't... we'll see.

I think he meant, they at least attempted to get better.

We didn't?

August 23rd, 2022. Nothing screams confidence like this. They kept Jaylon Moore over him. LOL

He was one of the 49ers' final cuts as the team dropped down to 53 players on Aug. 31.

You don't cut a guy you think is talented esp. at a premium position. This is what they do...overvalue their own and overreach in the draft. But yes, they clearly think he's a starter. That's the problem.

I really don't know what to make of the O-line, specifically RT. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last year based on the pedigree of Aaron Banks and I was high in Burford. This year, we have McKivitz and Moore. Everyone has that horrible taste in their mouths from Moore last year but he did play well in 2021. With that said, I'm far less confident even though it's only one position they are replacing. The 5th and 6th rounds will reveal what they think of their own guys.

He's played well every time he's played. He even said himself that being cut was a wake up call to get better.

Well? Do you think he's an upgrade over Mike McGlinchey?

Yes I do. I was so happy that McGlinchey left.
This dude gonna be the reason Lance ends up on IR.

Niners staff doesn't stand a chance in hell when comparing their knowledge to some of the elite experts' opinions in here

He didn't get anyone hurt when filling in for Trent Williams.

This. He played in a few critical games and after that NFCCG against the Rams, I wish he started over Trent Williams. I think McKivitz is good enough. What worries me is who is behind him.

Could be in pass protection. I don't remember him getting worked when he started in place of Trent.

"I really feel like it woke him up," Kyle Shanahan said of the former fifth-round pick. "Not that he was negative before. I mean, the guy always works hard, but sometimes when guys get cut they realize how this isn't forever and how every single second counts."

In his small number of reps last season, 92 IIRC, he graded better than McGlinchey in both PP and RBLK.

Do I have a lot of confidence in him? No, not yet, but I hope he proves me wrong. What else can I do?
