Seems like if he was released while injured there'd be an injury settlement, but I don't know much about that side. I thought they released him after he was elevated from PUP.

edit: reporting says he was released for cap reasons after spending everything they have on their QB. But I know a team with cap room….

He'd be a great zone scheme fit too if I remember correctly he's an athletic swing tackle.

I know he got worked in pass pro versus Watt, but how was his run blocking? I did not notice.

Dont know if he's still hurt but to expect high level play 9 months after tearing both his probably a high bar. I'd they were to sign him he'd need some weeks to get ready to play.

But can we sign and stash him on the IR ? Is there still a limited amount of temporary IR spots available?

Well they'd have to cut someone to do so then resign them. I just don't know that they'd wanna sign someone they can't work out yet

I saw on some play-by-play reviews on YouTube that he took some poor angles out of his stance. Too straight ahead, not enough lateral movement compared to the rest of the linemen. It caused him to not get past the midline of the defender, weakening his block or causing him to be a little late. It looks fixable, I would think.

Haha. And of course MM had been dealing with a knee issue all camp too. We know how this feels.

I'm not sure how he did run blocking, but I just wanted to comment on his pass pro vs Watt, he did give up 3 sacks but watching Jonnydel's video there''s a lot of plays where he played perfect against Watt and gave Purdy plenty of time to throw. Take it for what its worth... lets hope he improves throughout the season.

AGree. McKivitz didn't look physically beaten, just took some wrong angles and some miscommunication with his right guard. I think that is 90% is fixable. The other 10% I hope McKivitz doesn't face an elite edge rusher until he's ready for them the playoffs.

Even a false start can't save him.

If they don't make a move for someone, anyone better, that's all we as fans can do.
