This kid is about to get the Trent Williams agenda, may end up being a ALL PRO or even a HOF player if he listens.

Lol come on guys. It's a 5th round pick.
If he's even a decent starter inside it's a W.

One thing that was really cool was if the Washington deal didn't go through, one of our Plan Bs was to try to draft [OL] Colton [McKivitz] there in the fourth round and then we made that risk to move that to go up and get the receiver we wanted. Then we did end up getting Trent and to still be able to get him (McKivitz) in the fifth round was a hell of a deal. We felt really excited about how today went." -KS
They had McKivitz as a plan B potentially replacing Staley
Lynch and KS ice water in the veins gamblers ...Jimmy could've had a rookie 4th/5th rounder on his blindside

They clarified. They didn't view him as a replacement, but as a possible replacement battling Coleman and Skule.
Let me just say that we have our Plan Bs and we have people who we think are candidates. We also think if it didn't work out in the Draft or with Trent, we think [OT] Shon Coleman, we think [OL Daniel] Brunskill, we think [OL Justin] Skule. We have candidates and Colton's another one.

If true then they've really hit the nail on the head. They have two talented left tackles now instead of just one in Trent. There is something about the 5th round that seems to be a sweet spot for this current organization. I'll enjoy watching McKivits in pre-season and see how he holds up against Bosa and the DLine crew, but I"m also hoping they pick an edge rusher in the 5th next year.

No room for Hall who is coming off a serious injury and may not be the same guy. They may still add camp competition. But I think we look at LB depth and then maybe S to challenge Marcell Harris or TE to compete with Dwelley.
Not sure how you can look at those 3 and say we wouldn't do well to try to upgrade outside CB position. Not to mention Sherman is 32.
We just went to a Super Bowl, so there aren't gaping holes left in our roster. But imo CB is one of the primary areas of concern moving forward.
Upgrade them with a late round CB, especially one coming off injury? Not likely. This guy has a chance to start at RG opening week. That would make him great value from the 5th round, as per the usual with Kyle and John

Totally agree....the NIners got great value when they got this guy in the 5th round, especially for the versatility he provides. Having OLmen that can play all of the positions on the OL is huge! I wonder if the guy has played center. That is actually a position of need right now.

Obvious jokes given our success in the 5th round under this regime.
