Random still responding (safe assumption) to someone who's blocked him for the past 2 years? Psycho. Not obsessed at all.

I know he was our back up C but not sure Feliciano would beat out Brendal in that situation. Would be great if he did though.

Whoever we draft for OL will not likely be contributing much this season. Nor we can expect them to solve our offensive line woes. If Shanny is serious about addressing the problem, he will have to address it through FA.

Yes that's correct....Hunt would be my first priority free agent signing, if possible. Rookie O lineman rarely do well in their first year, takes time to catch up to the speed of the game at the next level. We should do both draft and free agency this is probably the only way we get back to the big game IMO.
People still crying about a small extension lol? Look they had ONE OT signed past 2024. Think whatever you want about Colton, he's a young NFL OT that belongs on a roster that requires like 9 OL on its squad. He's got like 20+ starts under his belt and can play all over the OL. That's valuable in terms of depth/spot starts when needed etc.

anyone thinking this means he's our long-term answer at OT is being silly. This doesn't change a damn thing in regards to what they do in FA/Draft. We need players to fill a roster. Period.

Lol that's rich for a guy who tells everyone all the people he has blocked , but clearly reads the posts 🤣
I doubt McKivitz's new 1yr extension has a base value of $7M, more likely $4.5M, with incentives, as he earned $620K from his 2023 incentives, and another $485K base salary escalator, wouldn't be shocked if they lowered his base salary to $1.125M, currently has a $2.525M base, could save a little cap room. They could wipe out his per game roster bonus & LTBE Incentives($620K) for more room.

I still believe in DL. But other ingredients are needed. Example, imagine our offense scores say 13 points on the first three drives of the 3rd quarter. Not exactly offensive explosion, but it is three scores. How does the D-line look knowing we are up 23 - 3 as opposed to 10 - 3 halfway through the 3rd? Because of rules favoring the offense it is bonkers to think a defense will just hold an offense, all by themselves, all game to 10 or less. Not a great team and certainly not an all time great team like the Chiefs. You have to keep scoring. We have not against the Chiefs twice and then also the Rams. I certainly love the idea of an elite DL destroying an offense. But the reality is, they need help from the offense because the rules and the refs are working against them.

I'm hoping they draft a guard (a longshot) because at 31. We can take the 7th to 10th best tackle, the 2nd or 3rd best guard, or the 1st or 2nd best center. The latter two likely will be better players than the first and most likely BPA at that point. A tackle in the 2nd or 3rd also still has a chance to beat out McKivitz. Would love to see them duplicate the 2010 draft and come away with two immediate starters on the right side.

Maybe at center but no guard. I don't want Barton or any other conversion and the actual true guards aren't worth the spot.

My real reasoning behind a guard is that there is no way a rookie center starts in Kyle's offense. So said player needs to have a high football IQ, great run blocker, can anchor/pass protect, etc. They need to be good enough to start immediately at RG and take over at center in a year or two.

I am hoping that the deal somehow helps the cap in 2023. Otherwise I'm not sure I understand the point of extending a guy who seems to a below average starting RT. I guess as a backup OT he's not bad.

We gotta refocus on selling the key topics that matter here: Our OL was not "good enough", NC has been right about everything for 8 consecutive years, and he'll wait for SMEs and performance before saying he wanted now-good players in the draft all along. It all adds up.

After seeing all of these guys sign in free agency, I have grown to like this deal. Bc if he was a free agent next year he would probably get like 15m w year. Good safety net if we don't get a starting tackle in the draft over the next 2 drafts

If we can't get a starting T in the next 2 drafts, the entire FO should be fired.

I don't think a cap hit of 4m in 2025 locks in Mckivitz as a starter and stops them from drafting a Tackle Sounds like cheap swing tackle money.
