Burford about to take McKivitz' job?

Burford feels better on the left side. Probably better off at LG than RT. Best we can hope for is Jaylon Moore taking his spot.
No love for Colton yet? Let me correct this. He provided an absolutely KEY block on the game clinching TD last night, opening a hole big enough for Rathman to drive a truck through. The entire line did it's job on this play, but it's Colton who absolutely OBLITERATED Seahawks linebacker Tyrel Dodson to open up a massive hole that lead to the clinching "GAME OVER" score. It's that key moment when 49er fans screamed, in unison, GAME OVER.

You can see that block in the Amazon Prime replay of that TD run. It's an endzone shot, and you can see Colton's crushing block on Dodson as he tries to get into position to make a tackle. It's a thing of beauty. It's clear the Seahawks were not expecting this type of play.

Big play is at about 12:19.

On that 2nd Kittle TD, Burford was the one getting blown up right at the start that if Purdy didn't hit immediately Kittle, it would've been a sack most likely

Idk if he's playing well or Brendel is so bad it makes Mckivitz looks decent.

Bragging about a tackle running over a LB when he regularly gets dog walked back to the QB by DEs isn't helping.

Look who they've been playing against. Anytime people start saying "look he's doing better", it's a good sign that he's facing tomato cans.

They've got the Chiefs, Cowboys, Bucs and Bears coming up on the schedule. Gonna go out on a limb and guess that this thread will be a lot more active and not because people are being complimentary of his play.

Unfortunately he doesn't get to play against tomato cans in the playoffs.

Tomato cans or not, the 49ers have been having more success running to the right this season than in the past. Part of that is due to the superior play of Puni but McKivitz is now ranked #15 among all tackles in run-blocking. His pass-blocking rating is also improved, albeit against lesser Des in some cases.

The test comes next week against Karlaftis and friends.

Yeah I don't tear my hair up everytime I look at Colton this season so that is an improvement.
