You know it's a big deal when the cap guru says we can't sign someone lol. But I absolutely expected him to be a free agent that nets us a draft pick. Can't wait to your next updates because ven though you have us in on Chase, I'm wondering if it's an automatic that Chase is in, Lenoir is out. Damn shame with the DBs finally coming together (likely thanks to Wilks) that many of these guys will be gone in 2025. Hoping we take two corners and a safety (more of a FS type) in the 2024 draft.

It's great for Jennings that you are projecting 10 million plus. The go from a 7th round pick to increasing your salary like 6 times over is awesome stuff.

Brown is the free safety of the future. I doubt they are looking at a FS unless the plan is to let Huf walk.

I'm thinking about depth. Gipson was already contemplating retirement. If we win the Super Bowl, I'm certain he is out and in that case, we will need a replacement. This is a day 3 pick that can play special teams.

I always assumed the general plan was that Hufanga/Brown was our safety combo for the future. Good that we brought back Gipson this year to help those guys mature and grow.

Should be interesting to see how Hufanga returns from injury, and how that impacts extension negotiations when it comes time.

Definitely agree that Jennings will get a good contract elsewhere. He's physical and loves to block. A lot of teams, especially ones that have a similar system to ours, will covet him.

I think Ronnie Bell will be a seamless replacement. He seems like a baller.

I think a lot of teams will get him and attempt to make him a WR 2 or even 1 given his lack of chances behind Aiyuk, Deebo, Kitttle and CMC.

I don't think it's a matter of not being able to sign him so much as not being able to sign everyone, and he's gonna get #2 mo ey at worst, maybe #1 and this team is more about investing in the D line than anywhere else. But Jennings deserves that money, so if we get a comp for it, I wish him the best. Just want to enjoy this season and this team as much as possible while it's here, because one day we'll look back on this team as being historically talented.

I cant see #1, but you never know with some of these franchises. He is underutilized here and in the right offense can be a big contributor as a 2 or a 3 that plays most downs etc, but here he will never surpass Deebo and Aiyuk.

This feels like one of those amicable aka no bad blood parting of ways. Go get your money and more playing time, which he deserves.

Kendrick got a nice bag and I think Jennings is more consistent than him. How FA goes.

I was thinking Bourne as well...We just need to find a replacement for 3rd and Juan clutch plays.

Exactly. Jennings will get a modestly sized bag and he deserves it. He's gotta take that money, we've been tendering him for awhile. He's developed into a solid WR3. Love to see 7th round picks work out.

Lenoir might be retainable, now that Huf has a torn ACL, it might come down though to DMo or Ambry at CB, but they need to keep drafting CBs, cause they've hit on some good ones, I'm high on Luter, love Womack, Lenoir, & Ambry.

If the 49ers want Chase back, it's doable, even with Aiyuk being extended next offseason, extending the likes of Ward, AA, & Dre saves over $27M, that plus redoing Deebo saving $15.8M, that's over $40M that they could have for Chase, & their own FAs. Need to set aside $4.901M for Jauan's 2nd rd tender IMO.
Damn, he's out again. Hope he's back soon - an important part of the offense.

There's definitely a massive drop-off between him and guys like Willie Sneed and Ronnie Bell.
