A more likely scenario is a team offers him more money and the 9ers have to decide on what to do.

He is not in a typical situation for a hold out. What I am saying is it would be really weird if he does hold out.

He's the most-likely loss in FA... dude deserves a 8-10M/y type of deal, a legit #2 for someone, especially for a team who wants to be a run-team.
