I love Jennings and glad he was extended but this makes the Pearsall and Cowing picks even more of a headscratcher. If they keep Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings all in 2025 then using a 1st and 4th on WRs is a massive waste of draft capital that could have been used on needs. I like both players but having them be WR 4 and 5 for 2 seasons is stupid.

Wow surprised he took less than $10M a yr, I really am, I'm glad, just surprised, cause he's such a good WR, and I don't know if he wants to be the 3rd WR forever.

Yeah but idk if he's good enough to be a legit 2. I think he really excels as the third l.
this gives him some security but also gives us the ability to trade him instead of losing him next year in free agency. Win/win. Especially with Pearsall and cowing.
but it also makes me think we may move off of Deebo after this year. At worst, it gives us many options. Wr have an embarrassment of riches at WR right now with Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, cowing. Three very good WRs and two with a ton of potential.
the amount of options all of those guys skill sets provide for our offense is crazy. Speed, route running, versatility, third down, toughness etc. it's really impressive and a far cry from 2017. lol

Love Jauan but his production doesn't demand $10 million on the open market. Glad he chose modesty and security than risk it.

I actually now think they'll be able to keep BA, Deebo, & Jauan through at least 2025, I'm not unhappy with the Pearsall & Cowing picks, not when there wasn't a T worthy at 31, and Cowing is a 4th rd pick, & has huge upside.

Don't worry, not everyone saw you puffing your chest with certainty about it in the Aiyuk thread

This does give them the option of trading JJ next season instead of losing him for nothing if they choose to go that route.

I can't say I saw this coming, but the attitude this guy brings to the team makes him one of favorites, so hell yeah I'll take it.

Maybe he's that rare type of guy who is fine with 10 mill vs 12 ? aka he is happy with his life etc.

Such great news that I didn't see coming! He really reminds me of the role that Ed McCaffrey played for us in 94, and I really thought he'd go somewhere else and flourish like Ed did in Denver. Team sure has a stacked cupboard of WRs now…

He wants to be a 49er a little longer. I mean who wouldn't want to knowing how s**t the other franchises are.

I really liked the picks but I don't think we took a player in the first with the expectation that he will be a 3rd or even 4th option (possibly even fifth if you include Kittle) for the next 2-3 years.
I thought we were going to lose Jennings after this year and potentially trade Deebo (felt like 50/50 on if he kept him or not). The cowing and Pearsall picks felt like we were prepping for after this year to replace Jennings and potentially Deebo.

This, the bold. The Niners were very thin at WR behind Deebo, Aiyuk & Jennings. Needed quality depth, especially over the course of a long season + hopefully playoffs. Hoping Pearsall and Cowing show as quality depth but ready to step in for more of a role if/when injuries hit. Also, Pearsall & Cowing each bring a different skill set at WR that the Niners can hopefully rely on here and there as the season goes on.

Sensational NFCCG play from all involved opens this reel. Brock Purdy and Jauan Jennings both have a knack for these in big moments.

Not a bad idea for 49ers to keep them on the same field in the same uniform for as long as possible. The 2-year deal most feasible option now https://t.co/LTAGQWSJdE
