I love Jennings and glad he was extended but this makes the Pearsall and Cowing picks even more of a headscratcher. If they keep Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings all in 2025 then using a 1st and 4th on WRs is a massive waste of draft capital that could have been used on needs. I like both players but having them be WR 4 and 5 for 2 seasons is stupid.
This, the bold. The Niners were very thin at WR behind Deebo, Aiyuk & Jennings. Needed quality depth, especially over the course of a long season + hopefully playoffs. Hoping Pearsall and Cowing show as quality depth but ready to step in for more of a role if/when injuries hit. Also, Pearsall & Cowing each bring a different skill set at WR that the Niners can hopefully rely on here and there as the season goes on.
Agreed, & I rather have Pearsall & Cowing than Gray & Bell, those 2 have to go, Bell can go to the PS, he has some upside but Gray was a bad pick, a bust like TDP the same yr.

Great free agent (in a sense) signing. Third and Jauan is a great player they found in the 7th round who is a first round talent. I think this guy can take over Deebo's role if Deebo goes to greener pastures later in his career.

Tbh I see this as a $10m a year deal in a sense so I think you were spot on. He had the $4m this year, not much of a way out of that for him and niners values him at $10m next year. 100% guaranteed he'd be getting that on the open market.
Yes, if you average it it's $7.5m/yr but that is due to the reality of the tag. Good for him to take some guaranteed good $$ after working for chump change for 4 years

Don't worry, not everyone saw you puffing your chest with certainty about it in the Aiyuk thread
I have now 🤣🤣.
These boards could use a little more accountability like this

Ditto!
And that's what I think will happen.

It's a good signing. He's a good WR and a great blocker.

One of, if not the best WR in the league when he doesn't have the ball or is not the intended target on a given play. Dude plays with so much heart and passion. Great blocker is an understatement, I haven't seen one as good as him since Hines Ward

The best #3 WR in the league when you take everything into account.

he must owe somebody some money or something.... hmmm....interesting.
imo, after this season...with a more experienced Purdy, felt he could really cash in during the offseason.

Pearsall is going to eat into his snaps. So it's better for him to ask for an extension now.

Gems like Jennings are the main resson why we've thrived even though we've blown nearly all our first three round selections since 2017.
hitting on a ton of mid round, late round, UDFA is better than early cause of how cheap their contracts are. It's hilarious to me how we knock all those historically less likely picks outta the park and can't hit the "gimmes" lmao

I can't say I saw this coming, but the attitude this guy brings to the team makes him one of favorites, so hell yeah I'll take it.
Maybe he's that rare type of guy who is fine with 10 mill vs 12 ? aka he is happy with his life etc.
Yeah, maybe he genuinely likes his teammates, wants to win, etc.
The Pearsall pick and Aiyuk's situation had me thinking the team was going in a different direction. Happy to be wrong.
