Well, I"m just hoping he pans out. If he does, man o man will that be to our advantage. Get a younger player at Juszcyk's position, which is kind of a hybrid RB/TE/Fullback kind of position. Ross Dwelly was really critical in the AZ games and to have a bit more depth at TE/Fullback is really a positive. Nobody in the NFL really plays the fullback position much anymore the way Kyle does - most teams are going 3 wide. So I don't think we can get a good compensation for Juice if our UDFA fullback pans out. Just my opinion.

Yeah I'm not talking about trading Juice. But he will be a free agent. According the Athletic, the 49ers did try tight ends at that backup spot. And they worked marginally. Most tight ends are 6'4". Hokit is a FB.

Lorenzo Neal is 5' 11", Juice is 6'1", Hokit is 6'1". Not long limbed. Built like a brick s**thouse and loves contact.

Juszczyk is a fulback and is one hell of a lead blocker for sure. TE's usually don't have that kind of skillset to block from a running start. Having said that, I was impressed with Juszczyk's crafty abilty not only to lead block and blow linebackers and DLinemen up, but his influence blocking was pure genius in the playoffs. That no block that sprang Mostert was pretty halarious against the vikings. I wish we ran more againt KC though.

Juice is really on another level. Great hands, extremely smart blocker. He's almost as crucial to our offense as Kittle.

He's as crucial to this offense as GKittle is IMO, he's a guy they need to extend before next March, can't lose him, I know this Josh Hokit kid looks good, but he isn't Juice.

Did a little research on NFL Draft Profiles...here's a few guys with a chance.

CB DeMarkus Acy (MO). Has the size 6-2-195, decent speed, coverage and toughness. Was All-SEC CB in 2018. Needs to work on recovery speed/skills.

S Jared Mayden ('Bama) Blossomed his Sr season after spot playing earlier. He'll need some coaching up, but could be a dark-horse roster candidate. Review said he's not a 1-deep FS guy, but we have Ward for that.

DT Darrion Daniels (Neb) Not as big as it says in 'Zone UDFA Tracker...he goes 6-3 @ 310-315. Needs coaching up, but is a willing defender who doesn't give up on plays. He'll need to learn good techniques then he might be a pretty good player.

RB Ahmed (WA) Saw him play a couple of times. Can impress with speed/cutting abilities, but consensus seemed to be he leaves a lot of big plays on the field. Can catch the ball and return it.

Doesn't look like Ahmed signed with the Niners from their press release.

Any news on Salvon Ahmed, he is listed as on the roster on every site except the official site and then they didnt announce his signing with the others, did something happen?

Maiocco just said a little earlier today that he's signing but later today.

He must have got to his phone late or something. Good to hear he's signing though.

I know that Kyle has magic when it comes to undrafted rookie running backs, and I hope he still has his touch with Ahmed (and the other RB's). The current RB players are all pretty good, and for Undrafted RB's to make it one the team by beating out one of them is going to be a challenge to all these undrafted running backs. I think these Undrafted RB's may have a shot at beating either Wilson, Coleman or McKinnon.

His athletic profile makes him a perfect fit in the W9 at edge if he can make the conversion. Plenty of players successfully converted to other positions before (Bruce Miller DE to FB, Brunskill TE to OT, Staley TE to OT, etc). Give him a year or two on the PS and see what happens! Why not?

Still haven't seen anything final yet on Ahmed signing. Hoping he does as he's got potential in this scheme and also to add to the competition at RB. I believe he was the 2nd best player left on Kiper's board at the end of the draft.

His numbers are slightly better than Fords, but I'm more impressed with his 1.57sec 10yd split which is similar to Khalil Mack. He's pretty quick off the line if that's the case. Not saying he's anywhere near Ford or Mack in talent but he's just as athletic as them, just needs to mold and develop him.

Could not find any defensive stats for Chase from high school. Never played defense? Hmm.

32 1/2" arms. Long enough. Better than Bradlee Anae and Alton Robinson.
