I think Darrion Daniels could make the 53 now that I think of it, he fits the NT spot, got $105k GTD, not that that matters, but it's something.

Agreed. I haven't seen him play but I've heard he moves pretty well for a person his size.

Has to be the cheapest signing bonus EVER lol.
Probably the only offer he could get. Well either that or he's a die hard 9ers fan and just wanted to get on the team somehow. lol

If the 49er's are really doing their job their had better be three or four guys from that group that stick long term. Football is a meat grinder of a spot and if you hope to have a good team you better find some contributors in UDFA. This is especially true at RB/FB, OG, Safety, possession receiver, blocking tight end.
Using 2017 as an example.....
there were more UDFAs playing at least 40-percent of offensive or defensive snaps than any other group except for first round draft picks. But to be fair with the players who were actually drafted, there can be upward of 500 UDFAs flooding the NFL every year where there are only somewhere between 32 and about 40 players drafted each round when including compensatory draft picks.
But even then, there were more 2017 regular contributors from UDFAs (133) than from players drafted in the fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds combined (117 total).
In this group I expect Acy, Hokit, Harrell and Hasty to ultimately be on the roster.
No way Kyle carries two rookie UDFA RBs on the 53, Coleman is a lock, people need to get over it, he's staying and should be, he had 7 TDs, he had a better year than people give him credit. Acy I can see, and Mayden, but none of the other UDFAs should make it unless the vets play real bad. Chase Harrell won't make it over their 6th rd pick Charlie Woerner.
I disagree. I don't think anyone in th RB room is safe. If Ahmed is dynamic in the pass game I can see Kyle going Mostert, McKinnon and Ahmed and trading Coleman. Kyles biggest thing last year with the RBs is the lack of receiving from the position. That's why Wilson was brought in against the Cardinals because he was the best in the passing game. Now Kyle has McKinnon back from injury. If he has another dynamic RB that is good in the pass game where you can split him out in the formation, that makes the offense more dangerous. He ran a 4.32 at UW before he put on some weight before the combine and ran the 4.62..The RB room is really talented ,even the UDFA.I don't think anything is out of the question there.

My point was ultimately. Some of them may spend a year on the practice squad before making the 53.

I was thinking the same. Sheldon Day is gone, Taylor is recovering from a torn ACL, Daniels would fit well as a backup for DJ Jones.

WOW! I"m betting (and I defer to the draft nerds) if he had a similar 40 yard score in the NFL combine, I'm thinking he's a high 2nd low 3rd rounder?

I'm hoping Kocureck had a lot of input in getting Daniels. Because if so, he'd definitely fit Kocureck's preference of a big man that can explode into gaps and just muck things up. I'm all for more depth at defense and the younger the better, with all our defensive line injuries last year.

I swear folks think Coleman is getting paid Leveon Bell money and fumbled on the goal line to win the SB that they want him out so bad and replaced by anyone even an UDFA. Coleman is such a lock as much as Mostert is, this isn't the 17' squad where we had no talent that UDFA easily could've made the team.

No way Coleman is getting cut - him and Mostert are solidly planted on the team.

I can see Mayden and Hasty making the squad! Mayden could easily take Harris spot behind Tartt. Hasty slides in with Brieda gone!

The #49ers didn't draft a DB in 2020, but San Francisco may have a contender to make the final roster in UDFA S Jared Mayden.@nicholasmcgee24 breaks down the former #RollTide safety.

This kid has a real chance to make the team imo. He can play either S spot or nickel CB. Lead Bama in INTs this yr and Bama coaches said the timed him at a 4.4 (he couldn't have a pro-day).

I'm hoping Jared Mayden is the next Ronnie Lott 2.0 and our two undrafted running backs are a faster version of Gore and Hearst.
