Alabama also runs a Cover-3 system, so he should be pretty familiar with the concepts. His versatility and coverage ability give him a very strong chance to beat out Marcell Harris. I'd love to see it happen. We definitely need a better coverage guy backing up Tartt at SS. Honestly, I would be in favor of Moore backing up both spots for that reason.

His roster spot, absent injury, is not in jeopardy. Kyle and Co. are great at finding serviceable NFL players post-7th round . I think we got 2 more RB candidates this year, plus that tall CB. Hell, even that QB guy looks like a nice PS developmental guy. Ala Jeff Garcia.
Great Comparison! I tend to agree. His stats and his background (Division III), in addition to his mobility, does remind me a bit of Jeff Garcia.

I'm really pulling for Acy - I really hope he makes the roster.

He sounds great. Why did he go undrafted.
Have to say that with all of the luck that the team has had with its UDFA picks you probably can't count any of these guys out. I suspect it will be hard for most of them to make the final roster but there will certainly be a lot of competition for those practice squad slots, especially at the RB and DB positions. Finke had a pretty meh write up in his draft profile but it makes sense that they would bring him in as a kind of look and see insurance policy in case Taylor can't make it back from his foot injury for any reason.

Only one season as a starter on a stacked Alabama team.

Ya that hurt him a bit. Also reading that he's not the quickest player either. Good north / south speed, but lacks NFL quality quickness. Also not much of a ball hawk either.

He looks to put on big hits, and he's got speed to cover deep. I think he's a lot like Tartt in several ways. Good competitor, plays hard, looks to hit people, and does have good speed.

Hopefully he can beat out Harris.

I've never heard a football breakdown video done with an Irish accent. I think Mayden gives Marcel Harris a run for his money.

I don't think any player is a lock. Even Jimmy. Now clearly, odds of Rutter beating Jimmy is less than .000001% but again it's never totally zero. As for UDFA's you may be right. Our RB situation is a lot different than it was in 2017 when we had a crop of RB's that were fit for a power oriented run game vs today when pretty much *every* RB we have - to a greater or lesser extent - fit very well with Kyle's run scheme. But having said that, if for some reason Hasty and Ahmed totally blow up the pre-season (if we have one) and Coleman and Wilson totally stink it up, I can see that kind of scenario allowing both Hasty and Ahmed to make the 53. (vs the practice squad)

I saw film of both RBs and Hasty looks like a better back. If Jerick's knees don't hold up he has a shot at the change-of-pace, receiver out of the backfield back. Ahmed needs a lot of work. Even on his highlight runs he hesitates a lot behind the line and does not look like the Shanahan-preferred "one-cut" RB.
Had no clue they signed this kid

At one pt he was the nations #1 JUCO recruit, tore his ACL in 2018 and then went in played in Canada. He's 6-5 262 with 34 3/8" arms 81" wingspan. Sounds super athletic but raw as hell.

I think right now he's a long shot, but if he shows well, he could steal a spot. Definitely a PS player to develop.

Ya'll need to check in on that Team Information thread a bit more. Haha.

This LOL, I knew the signing back in January when it was announced as a reserves/futures deal, signed 3yr deal, they're high on him, let's see if he can steal a spot.

I think Ahmed will be fine. One thing Kyle likes in a RB is speed, and Ahmed had a lot of it. I don't know why he recorded a 4.6 in the 40 when I'm betting his game speed is a lot faster. If he can get in synch with his OLinemen and get experience in how certain holes open up in certain runs, he'll be fine. Again, as long as he is fast. Now whether he can beat out McKinnon or Wilson for a spot on the 53, only time will tell.
