I like how you do this. I only have a few differences but wouldn't even think of debating them; more preferences than anything.

AB, how does the cap work if injuries during the season get a PS guy activated to the roster? Do they get paid a game day salary?

I thought I read that Nzeocha had 900K guaranteed on April 1st, but haven't been able to confirm that any where. If not, Nzeocha should be cut, because Walker is not only cheaper, but a better option as a ST/back up LB.
Then it comes to Compton, we can save an extra 500K if we trade him, as opposed to just cutting him. The Jets were trying to sign him, so perhaps we can go back to them, and be like we'll give you Compton+ 2022 7th round pick, for a 2021 7th round pick. This way we get the smallest of value out of him, while saving an extra 500K as opposed to just cutting. Why would the Jets do it? To guarantee that Compton is on their roster.

If a player is injured and a PS player is signed to the active roster, they get paid active roster pay.
As for the 2 PS players being added each week, they get paid there regular PS salary.

Why on Earth would we cut or trade Compton? Lol
We are paper thin on depth for the IOL.

Nzeocha's guarantee is actually $675K if he's injured and is cut, I was wrong on his April 1 date, he doesn't have that in his contract.

Change of heart. I think under the circumstances with the Covid situation, having a 3rd QB that knows our extensive offensive system will be a premium need this season, therefore I think we keep Beathard. I think they keep Petts as well since the WR position is complex as well. Should be easy enough to work one of our OL on PUP to make room.
53 Man Roster
QB- (3) Garoppolo, Mullens, Beathard
RB- (4) Coleman, Mostert, McKinnon, Wilson
FB- (1) Juszczyk
WR- (6) Deebo, Bourne, Aiyuk, Taylor, Hurd, Pettis

I'd love it if Acy beats out Verrett for a roster spot.

YOuth over talent, is what I always say. If a younger player can beat out an older player, you are (1) doing a good job of scouting (2) a good job of coaching (3) now you can trade the older player for some draft picks. Unlike the HarBaalke years, where youth *rarely* beat out the older starters. When the starters started retiring, the team was in trouble.

We know we're going to have some tough decisions at several positions and injuries will come into play as well, but assuming everyone's healthy, this is my first crack at it:
(3) QB Garoppolo, Mullens, Beathard
Keeping Beathard is a waste of a roster spot. In your scenario I would rather cut him and keep Jennings.

That would be the trade off. Beathard for Jennings but as I have said lately, I think Beathard remains due to Covid situation. Should Jimmy or Mullen go out for 2 weeks with the virus, Beathard becomes more valuable under the circumstances. All 3 QB's know the full offense.

This makes way too much sense, and I hate it, cause Beathard is a waste of a spot when a good WR will get cut or a good OL.
But I'd get it, I just hope we trade him, plus the new rules allow 2 PS players to be apart of the weekly roster, so we could just have a QB like Rutter on the PS, and elevate him if need be, but I get the idea of keeping a designated 3rd QB on the 53.
