What's Kittles Value?

Not sure we extend Trent anyways unless he comes at a reasonable price.
No one knows that . He may just be a temporary signing ala Sanders. Are we going to let McGlinchey walk when his contract comes up because we paid big bucks to Trent?

So you think McGlinchey is gonna play for peanuts when he's due for a new contract? Same with Warner/bosa/Deebo etc?

All of these guys are gonna want to get paid.

It's going to be a b***h getting those guys re-signed.

Thats why its sooooo important to win when you actually get to the big stage....On paper we have a chance to get back to it, but who knows how this year is gonna turn out... our superbowl window may have gone as fast as it was open.

I mean is Kittle more valuable than our QB? Sounds like some people are actually debating that...guess we should pay him more the JG too then lol.

AA's position is worth more and you won't find a single GM that would disagree.

When you totally disregard positional value when it comes to money, why the f**k shouldn't other players that play another positions ask for a ton more??

Why shouldn't TW ask for 50% more than the highest LT in football, if Kittle got it? Why shouldn't Warner ask for 50% more than the highest LBer? Why shouldn't Bosa/McG/Deebo ask for 50% more then the highest paid player at their position when it's their turn?

Kittle should absolutely crush the TE market...if he wants Julio Jones type money made he should have play WR? If we're talking about DE money, maybe he should play DE

While waiting to figure out what to say, ''because we just can't NOT pay Kittle," you gave us all something to think on. For one or two guys....ok..., paying Kittle $15, maybe $17 mil per, in short order we have Warner, Nick, Trent, Deebo, McG....and on and on. Obviously it can't be done. So nice post NY and for those of us who want to see George get paid, it will happen. But just not at the budget busting numbers that have been kicked around. On top of all this, the cap for next yr, based on this yr's income, is a tad shaky, to say the least. If the total NFL income this yr is markedly decreased, well, the cap will be similarly affected also. So that is yet another joker that will have a definite effect on paying Kittle. One almost could think this might just be a good yr NOT to re-up George.
I think he's worth Jimmy Garoppolo's porn star.

Yup, I don't think there's a single person that doesn't want him to get paid and be part of SF forever. Like you said the state of the world is gonna mess up the cap space in 2021.

There's gonna be repercussions to paying someone 50% more than the highest paid player at their position...it's simply the truth.

At worst they have him for the next 3 yrs on tags and actually at a cheaper value or they meet in the middle to help keep some sort of balance and help retain talent.

Truthfully I don't think there's a team that is gonna pay a TE that kind of money. I would like to see what Kelce gets in a yr as well...

Kittle deserves at least the same money Armstead is going to make with his new contract.

Kittle sacking QBs?

Armstead catching touchdowns?

going with those logic, he should get paid half of what armstead got.

armstead - 10 sacks
kittle - 5 tds

ya I don't think they saw this one coming. However by there logic this does work.

That was my point. Not sure we can pay Trent when McGlinchey will command lt money as well. And yeah Bosa is going to want access to Fort Knox. Deebo I think will be more reasonable.

The only way to be a continued success with the salary cap is to emulate the NE way of doing things. It's a business. You can only pay so many people. Brady was underpaid for many years to keep the Patriots successful. When Tom wanted more, he was let go to seek greener pastures. What Kittle's agent should do is get him endorsement money. That's what Brady did. Look at the top paid golfers. That's the major way they make great money.
I am at the point with Kittle, of just letting him play out this season, and then playing the Tag game. If it pisses him off, then let him know that after the 2020 season, we're going to tag him, but if him and his agent can find a team willing to pay him what he wants, and give us what we need in a trade to move Kittle (1st in 2021, and 2nd in 2022) then we could explore that route.

Perhaps we let the league know what we want for Kittle in a trade, and then wait for the best offer.

Here's the thing, if we tag him and a team wants to sign him for more, they have to give up 2 first rounders. Fine! Plus we can tag him for 3 years if we want and still pay under 40M for 4 years. I love Kittle. He decided to be a TE. He was a wide receiver coming out of highschool. He never would have been the success he's been as a TE if he were a WR. Simply, he is not worth top WR money.

Problem is that if you tag him and fail to re-sign Trent Williams, then Williams is gone. I hope that they can re-sign Kittle to a "reasonable" deal and franchise Trent Williams.
I was in the same boat of getting a Kittle extension done now, so we can tag T. Williams after the season, but now it might look like we'll need to try to extend Williams, and tag Kittle.

Williams has been out for a year+, I would try to get him to sign like a 3/57 extension, and guarantee like half of it. 19 million a season for 3 years isn't a bad offer with the questions that remain about how well he is going to play with his long absence from the field.

I'm sure we probably thought Kittle would be reasonable after his rookie yr too.

When is McG due? Toss in the 5th yr option as well.
5 years 80 million, 16 annually, blows away the TE market by almost 5 million, gets paid more then Devante Adams and almost the same as Mike Evans, back load the deal where he could be restructured at the end or extended, problem solved. Might have to cut Dee Ford of Kwon next year to help, see who is more injured and that's the 1, Ford would be harder to replace bc Greenlaw looks like future star.

They can use exclusive tag and he can't negotiate with other teams. Non-exclusive he can and we can match any offer, if not like you said we get two 1sts...no team is doing that for a TE.

Don't forget Jimmy needs an extension as well.
