I did see somewhere that Ahmed ran a 4.32 40 yard dash coming out of highschool. So if he really has wheels like that I would not be surprised to see him produce in Shanny's system.

WOW!

Ran a 4.62 at the combine

Yeah im not sure why that is...Quick finger on the person timing in HS? Mybe he packed to much muscle while in college? Or maybe he was dealing with something like Aiyuk was. He def looks faster than a 4.62 in his highlights though

Yeah its hard to say but you are right his film looks WAY faster than his combine 40 time would suggest.

The Hasteeeeeeeee !!!! He'll be Shanny Choker's Devonte Free!!!!

idk man only time will tell but the more film I watch of Ahmed the more I get excited to see him in red and gold. There is not much that he doesn't do well. Two things that jump off the screen when watching him are his vision and instincts.

For me his patience is another thing that stand out. It is Leveon-esq.

Having said that hopefully he isn't too patient that he misses the holes in this scheme. It is a fine line between being patient and dancing in the backfield.

In the end I think both these guys have potential and I am excited to see if either or both of them can contribute to the team.

I like them both and don't get me wrong, but IF I had to choose from what I saw last year, I really think Haste is the better all around RB for our offense.. Had this been the old Harbaugh UP the GUT style of running attack, then I'd go w/Ahmed..
Might need both in a scenario where Mostert is traded and Jet is still hurt. 1 on the roster, 1 to the PS.

He's not a 4.3 guy. You can spot that type of speed on film. I wouldn't conclude that he's a 4.6 guy either, mid 4.5s more than likely.
i saw a lot of Ahmed and he does have speed. If he gets to the open, he's going to get chunks. Just didn't see him plant and head to a hole. He didn't seem to get any better and he got platooned with guys with a lot less talent. Not too great or pass catching or PP and the OL there was decent last year.
I don't know about Ahmed being slow. To me the thing he needs to work on is decisiveness. He seemed to hesitate a lot.

Like Kevan Barlow hesitate?

Barlow had the same problem as Vernon Davis... both believed in the hype and once thought that they were THE BEST already.

My preferred depth chart.
53-man roster
Mostert
Coleman
McKinnon
Wilson

PS
Ahmed
Hasty

Good summary mayo...

From what I've noticed over the past season Kyle keeps variety on the roster and back-up skill set to that variety on the PS. For example, in this offense both Coleman and Wilson fill the same/similar role - bigger backs, not super fast, but tough between tackles and decent pass catchers. When Coleman couldn't go, Wilson was usually promoted from PS. I don't know if it's a given that both Coleman and Wilson both make the 53. I haven't seen a lot of Ahmed and Hasty, but from what I've seen, Hasty looks more like someone who will make the roster than Ahmed who looks a little slow to me.

Again just my opinion on very limited tape review.

Coleman isn't getting cut, he has $2M GTD, not sure they'd trade him, KS loves him, Wilson is insurance in case someone gets hurt. Coleman actually has good speed IMO.
This thread suddenly became a lot more interesting

Yeah, I haven't studied much on Ahmed or Hasty, so I'll take your word on it. I'll do a total breakdown on them in the coming weeks.

Coleman should have been cut before half of his cap hit became gtd
