So many questions...

Yeah it looks like Garland better play because if not we are kind of screwed
I'm sure th Center position is gonna be fluid. Kyle will have his eye on some veterans getting cut from other teams to strengthen that position. Just gotta wait and see I guess.
Has Shepley been mentioned in any of the practice reports? I know he's only been here like a week.
The Compton news means his ass was gonna get cut unless he restructured. It means either Garland will be ready to roll week 1 or Colton beat him out to start at RG. Compton is essentially a backup.

Either way it's a positive

Gotta be hard being George Kittle.....best TE in the NFL and coolest guy in the room.

Yeah, was taking 2nd team C snaps last couple days.

Good way of looking at it. Or freeing up a bit more $ for Sanu. MM has Sanu on our protected PS.

My guess is Garland is playing. If he doesn't I'm sure Brunskill takes the snaps at center just as he's been doing mostly with the ones since Garland's injury. I would also guess that considering Compton was asked to take a pay cut that means he would have been cut if he hadn't. That would insinuate McKivitz beat him out for the rg spot for next on the depth chart behind Brunskill. That has certainly been reported more than once that McKivitz has looked better than Compton at camp.

Kind of wondering if McKivitz could actually be the C/G of the future behind Richburg at some point, if Garland doesn't stick around long term. I originally projected Compton to be cut in my final 53 earlier this week. Sounds like he saved himself only by the hair on his chinny-chin-chin by taking that cut...

Tbh I thought McKivitz would convert to guard after he got drafted. However when Lynch/Kyle said he was the plan b behind Trent for replacing Joe I changed my mind and thought maybe tackle is where they wanted to develop him afterall. I'm guessing that was their original plan but injuries forced them to change plans. If he continues to develop well on the inside it's certainly possible what your suggesting and they just leave him put.

Hopefully it's Colton beating him out.

Beat writers said he needs to build strength but he's holding his own. Give him a year in an NFL training room and he just might be another round 5 gem.

McKivitz to replace Richburg would really save on cap space, I think, and that would really help in signing Trent Williams next year.
