Literally? Well if they "literally" said he was a top 5 back, then you claiming people are saying he is "an all pro back" is categorically incorrect.

What is a top 5 back ?? Zeke, Saquon, CMC, Derrick Henry, Todd Gurley ( before injuries), Kamara, Cook, Gordon. Are they not All Pro's??

There are 2 a year. And again, I am not seeing all these posters calling him a top 5 back. I have seen plenty say he is a perfect system running back. That in and of itself should be enough, but clearly it isnt for vocal minority.

You really just didnt look at my comment did you lol , i would rather have a grinder than someone that cant run unless they are going in untouched for a TD. Mostert when he is not going those big plays is just "alright". He has about a few big runs that inflate his stats the rest are short gains.

TRUE YARDS PER CARRY

"discounts all runs greater than 10 yards"

Tevin Coleman: 3.7

Raheem Mostert: 5.3

You said Mostert relies on big plays for his production.

And yet when I bring in data that proves he has a significantly higher YPC when you remove 10+ yard rushes compared to Coleman.

You start changing the subject about something different.

Just admit you we're wrong.

I definitely know today i saw someone call him a top 3 back.

In the Mostert thread i knew i saw someone call him one of the best backs in the NFL.

When you get called the best youre automatically being compared with guys that have been or are all pros.

Did you take into account defensive looks as well ?? When he was in the game except for the GB game, most teams thought they would pass with him.

Fine. Will take you at your word that one person called Mostert a top 3 back. He isnt that. I would venture to guess that you wont find more than a handful of niner fans in the world who think that. So its really not worth harping on at all.

But he is easily the best back on the team.

I want too see what he does this year, teams have tape on him. They are going try and takeaway his strengths. I have never called him a bad player but im waiting too see if he does deserve the best rb contract on the team. If he does, thats great for him. I just know a lot of one hit wonders at rb. Hopefully he proves his doubters wrong
Mostert has the potential to be a great RB...so far, he's got a relatively small sample size on the books. Not sure if he's getting bad advice from his agent or not, but he needs to prove himself for another full season before the Niners pay him. Coleman's in the last year of his 2-yr contract, but adds experience to that position. He's still got enough skill to be effective. If Mostert gets moved, there's still McKinnon, Ahmed & Hasty. Plenty of talent, for sure. Do the smart thing Raheem, buck up and have a great season. The Niners will pay you if you do that.

Coleman is a marginally better inside zone runner and better receiver. Mostert is a much better outside zone runner. Seems that most of our big play action pass plays come off of run action to outside zone, so the offense overall is more explosive with Mostert. Seems pretty obvious to me. We also lost the Super Bowl because Shanny wanted to be hard-headed and give Coleman carries in a game that should have been Mostert's start to finish. So there's that too.

Agree with both. The offense with Mostert is more explosive and more dynamic. Coleman had injuries last year and hopefully his 100% healthy now and can be more explosive as well. But Mostert was extended just this last year, I believe, and with good reason. He's a good back in this system and makes the Kyle system really explosive with his particular speed and wiggle.
Mostert gonna make more money than Kittle as well hahaha!
