The #49ers are adding depth, as they are expected to sign FA interior OL Hroniss Grasu and FA WR Jaron Brown, pending their final COVID tests, source said. Brown had 220 yards on 16 catches last year with the #Seahawks and Grasu recently spent time with the #Ravens.

Hroniss Grasu is indeed a depth signing — he's a former third-round draft pick but has never won a starting center job in his career. IMO this can taken as an indication the 49ers don't believe Ben Garland's ankle injury is serious. Grasu allows Brunskill to focus on RG https://t.co/QLFRrFPi54

meh he was okay...I mean you're not getting a true starting quality center at this point in the game. I don't think Garland's injury is that bad either.

Please let that be the case, lol.
Sounds like we never really close on Kilgore anyway. Don't have the money, or didn't want to find it to spend on him.

Barrows agrees.
This suggests C Ben Garland's ankle injury isn't a long-term issue. He could miss some practices but the injury isn't considered major. https://t.co/ERz2HZoWXh

You not wrong but it's slim pickings across the board right now.

Still , i'm Glad Kilgore went elsewhere. He was tough to watch while here. There still are cuts coming and JL has done himself proud there also. So it isn't over yet.

Who knows man? I'm pretty sure he had a big serious injury last year with Miami.

Kilgore was ok before he broke his leg in 2014, missed 2015 and never was the same. He looked old, weak and slow. He looked better at the end of 2017, Jimmy G actually made him look good with his quick release, enough for Lynch to give Kilgore a 3 years extension. Traded his ass for a seven eleven burrito when they signed Richburg.
Didn't follow his performance in Miami but I'm guessing he was below average.

He tore his triceps in the 4th game of 2018 and missed the remainder of that season.
Last year he started 13 games for what PFF and other stat sites considered the worst OL in the league.
