That still may be true for the initial PS but if called up in season, to go back down they'd need to clear waivers first each time?

Not according to this:

(b) In each game of the regular and postseason, a Club may choose to elevate a maximum of two players from its Practice Squad to its Active/Inactive List without the player first terminating his Practice Squad Player Contract and executing an NFL Player Contract.

(d) Any elevation of a player from a Club's Practice Squad to its Active/Inactive List must occur no earlier in the week than the final day for such player personnel transactions prior to the game for which the player is being elevated, but not later than the applicable player personnel transaction deadline for that day. Any player who is elevated to a Club's Active/Inactive List must be listed on the Club's game-day Active List or Inactive List, as applicable.

(e) Any player who is elevated to a Club's Active/Inactive List for a regular season or postseason game pursuant to this Section 5 shall automatically revert to the Club's Practice Squad at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the first business day following such game without being subject to waivers.

Good find brother! I heard a podcast say they'd be exposed every time to waivers, the 1 or 2 would be brought up weekly. That seemed incredibly complicated to me.

Didn't we have trouble with Kilgore like we had with the "Swinging Gate" who also was famous for the "matador" blocks? I thot we were all relieved when Kilgore left. He could snap the ball but i don't recall him being able to block. Have i got the wrong guy? My recollection was being happy when he left ,maybe to Miami?

I'm VERY relieved we aren't signing Kill-Gore.

+1 Kilgore was the worst run blocking OL I've seen that was a starter. The amount of times he got pushed back 5 yards in the backfield and PFF didn't account for it.

Yup, totally agree. Now to accelerate this guy, Hironiss, throw him to the wolves (Bosa & Co.) and see if he can survive.

I'm trying to get clarification about the whole protection rule, and whether they have to clear waivers, if so, Beathard makes the 53, he won't clear waivers IMO. Also like most vested veterans, I doubt Grasu would take a PS salary.

Wow, no mercy, you are tough. However, that is almost surely the way it goes down. The DL will determine shortly what his status with us is.

With Ross Reynolds going down, this guy's importance just became a lot more than before.
Any word on us bringing in another interior guy? I'm concerned with how thin we are at those positions mixed with the talent level of the guys left available/cap space.

Haven't heard anything yet but their gonna have to look at some more roster options with Reynolds hurt now.

more than likely a camp body is who might be brought in (which is kinda what Grasu is at this point).

Not much else sitting out there.
So far, he wasn't as bad as we imagined. 49ers should keep him on the untouched PS until we get both Garland and Richburg back with full health

No he was terrible per NC.

I agree we need to keep him, at least until both Garland and Richburg are back and healthy.

I'm about to charge you rent in your head.

I haven't rewatched yet but no bad snaps and he held his own. Very solid start given the circumstances. I look forward to the rewatch.

I haven't' rewatched the game yet either, but hope the above reviews were somewhat accurate, the more depth we have, the better in my book.
Props. This guy had a good game
Hope this kid continues to improve & get better out there
