Fresh off a super bowl run is Jimmy G on the hot seat? I'll preface this by saying, I'm not a Jimmy G hater. I like him, but don't love him. With that said, he's had his fair share of criticism. Is he the one to lead us? There's a lot of talent on this roster and many would argue, he's our weakest link. I'm rooting for Jimmy, but I do believe if he doesn't perform at a high level this season, show significant growth, and cut out the bone head mistakes.. his days could be numbered.

It's a weird question for me because I just can't see him f**king up. I'm not saying he's "elite" —an overstated argument anyway, who cares if a guy is "elite," which is just a word that everyone defines differently—you need your quarterback to make his guys better and be able to win games when it counts—and it's pretty clear to me the guy is a good quarterback at this point. Of course he has to improve but look at what he has. Toughness, leadership, guts, decisiveness, that insane release and short/intermediate accuracy, and I think he can develop a decent/good deep ball. Again, maybe not the best in the league, but I think he can be good enough. It's the whole package you've gotta think about. He's got a coach like Kyle, a team built the way ours is—built to last. Some people just need to see everything before they believe it. I, and I think plenty of others can already tell he's good....But, we could go 7-1 the first 8 games and the one game we lost someone would be saying he was on the hot seat lol

I don't think it's a make or break season for Jimmy. If he stinks it up - he'll still be back next season.

Also he just wins. What I like about Jimmy is his greatness is hard to describe. Possibly his best qualities are intangible. He comes to a 1-10 team and goes 5-0. How do you quantify that? The whole team got better, even the defense, I'd never seen anything like that. We went what, 4-12 the year he tore his ACL? He comes back and we go to the Super Bowl... The guy stands in the pocket and gets drilled to make the throws. Runs when he has to. Guns it in when he has to, gives his guys a chance. His teammates love him. And he just wins. What's his record, 21-6? He doesn't have the biggest arm or biggest upside and he's not perfect but he's a good QB.

So in his first full season as a starting QB, coming off a major knee injury, he goes to the Super Bowl. You're asking if what he does this year will make or break his career?
I think franchise QB's are extremely hard to find, and Jimmy would have to be pretty darn terrible to lose his job here. He'll be fine.

Agree. Almost an 80% winning percentage (or pretty darn close), you don't find those falling off the turnip truck very often. As long as you have Jimmy and Bosa, your super bowl window is open. How wide is determined by how well ShanaLynch draft.

Thank the Pats for giving Jimmy away and not continuing to dominate the league for another 10 years.
With Coviid uncertainties it's hard to see. But, this really should be Jimmy's breakout year under Kyle.

No. I don't even see why the question is being asked at this stage.

You could put Jimmy on any team in the league and he would win games. All he does is win.

Jimmy is our QB for the foreseeable future. He is not perfect, but he is pretty damn close when you add up all his QB traits. I love Jimmy's command of the huddle/offense and everyone wants to fight tooth and nail for him. Leadership is a GREAT quality and Jimmy has it. Our team is set up to be a legit contender for years. Gotta love it!

Now imagine if Jimmy had a line that actually was good in pass protection? Also, imagine if Jimmy had very good receivers? He would be considered top-five even with his propensity to throw stupid interceptions from time to time. But then again, if he had a number one receiver or two, some of those interceptions would not of happened. (Throwing to Dante and Kendrick sometimes )
