Man, this ones tough. I'm leaning towards 10-6 but with potential to be better than the 13-3 team. I think we lose to the Cards right out of the gate.

Maybe if that goddamn injury thread would be locked you'd put them in for a W against AZ

That thread is why I'm going with 10-6. It's the 49ers way.

You're not saying this if Kittle was healthy for both games last year. Game wasn't close when he was available. Second game the team came out flat after an emotional first loss the week prior. Kittle healthy, that cards D still sucks. Niners cover.

Nothing wrong with this take! Let's hope so.

This too. The ball certainly bounced our way a few times last year. Probably lose a couple more of those this year.

It may have but if you think about the games we lost because of injuries.....way more injuries than the teams we are playing against such as Seattle and especially Atlanta and Baltimore? So even if the ball bounced our way, if we had just Ford in the Baltimore game we win, if we had Kittle or Gould in the Seattle game we win, if we had any of the six starters on defense (Sherm) in the game against Atlanta we win. So there's that

Injuries? What are those? I'm sure those won't have an effect on our record this year (year 7). Hehe

But man that playoff change, only the #1 seed gets a bye week now, gonna be important to get that #1 seed, it was last season, helped get back Dee, Kwon, and others. Too bad the refs screwed us in the SB. I'm still not over it, but we blew the lead, the D let down, the play calling was subpar, not up to Kyle's reputation.

LOL! Kyle's reputation is fumbling the BIG one.
Hopefully he'll improve on that with experience Third time's a charm?

Losses at SEA, at N.O, , at AZ would be 13/ 3 . But we have another loss no one expects somewhere in part due to injuries.

So put me down for 12 / 4 assuming we don't have the same injury problem as last yr. ultimately THAT is what beat us in the SB . Midway thru 4th , Nick was gassed as was every other DL, and we were down 3 DLs, so starters never got a blow. If key players go down, then who knows how many we win. So i assume that' doesn't happen.

FTR, i was officially 9 / 7 last yr with usual truckload of injuries and 13 / 3 if we got away with just a few injuries. Turned out we had loads of injuries, but won 13 anyway. Go figure. This is a better team than last yr, more time together, big talents back on field . But if we start not a backup , but.a 3rd stringer at C, this could be a long yr..

Also JimmyG has to keep from getting real bad injury. If we play Chiefs again in SB., first thing i would do would be to tell Andy Reid, anybody spear our QB in the head wiht a helmet, kyle was going to bring a helmet over to Andy and bounce one off his head...or that of the spearer.

Lastly, i pray we finish the season. Please make sus wrong.

Best post you've ever made in my opinion. I love it! Especially about the helmet to helmet hit. That was so ridiculously atrocious if we get that one call I think we had a very good chance to run the clock at least kick a fg and win the game.

I know right? I'm beginning to believe in curses because Levi stadium must've been built over a sacred Indian burial ground. Poltergeist has nothing on Levi stadium

Yeah, the Football Gods have definitely been doing everything they can to make sure we don't start another dynasty.

Was it because we won so much in the 80s and 90s? Or was it because we got that cheap playoff game win against Green Bay? All we did was advance one round so we didn't even get a Lombardy when we lucked out on Jerry Rice's fumble.

One would think we got payback earlier in 1983 with that phantom pass interference call against Washington. Even that year we whipped Denver's ass (and they won the SB) and then Atlanta got to play us without Bryant Young and Garrison Hurst after the first play of the game, that's easily a win and we would've had another Super Bowl right there.
Schedule

Cardinals-- W
@ NY Jets--W
@ NYGiants--W
Eagles--W
Dolphins--W
Rams--W
@ New England--W
@ Seattle--W
Packers--W
@ New Orleans--W
@ LA Rams--L
Bills--W
Washington--W
@ Dallas--L
@ Arizona--W
Seahawks--W

14-2
14-2
