Edit: Plus Taylor and Bourne are UFAs after 2020, we won't be able to bring both back if they both have good years IMO, where Deebo, Aiyuk, Pettis are signed through 2021 at least, plus we need to budget money for Deebo, Bosa, Warner, McGlinchey, plus our 2021 FAs. And just because Pettis had 1 bad year doesn't mean he should be let go.

I agree that Pettis and Beathard needs to go. Pettis did absolutely nothing last yr and so did Beathard. I do want to see Kyle Shanahan have one full year with Kevin White and see what he can do with him and Jennings.

Pettis is arguably the most natural route runner on the team. He struggles with contested catches and drops. Seemed to be in his own head last year. He's admitted as much recently. Maybe he bought into his own off-season hype?

Either way he's been one of Jimmy's most targeted receivers this camp. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he rebounds. The kid is still talented.

Beathard probably isn't going anywhere. Covid 19 will have a bearing on team's decision making for cuts. Keeping 3 qbs is most likely a symptom of that. Beathard and Mullens are going into their 4th season in this offense. Kyle's offense is known for its complexity and it's not the kind of offense you can just pluck a QB off the street and throw in during the season.

Jennings and White are both good practice squad candidates. We'll see what happens.

So you want an all time bust who has a grand total of 25 catches in 4 years to make the team over a guy who has at least shown he is capable of playing in this league? Pettis has more catches and yards in 1 year then White has had over 4 years!!!

Pettis has been in the doghouse 1 year and White was in the doghouse for 3 with the bears and then the entire NFL last year as no one signed him!!!

The webzone's obsession over big WRs continues...

Pettis was in the doghouse much of the year but supposedly has looked better in camp this year. As for Beathard, how could he do anything? Are you rooting for Jimmy to get hurt? That's the only way Beathard or Mullins are going to do anything other than hold a clipboard.

If Beathard gets cut, beers are on the house!!
