Face guarding isn't a penalty in the NFL. This is a clean play. How about jimmy throws it to the back pylon for an easy td

On that particular play, I thought KB could've done a better job attacking that ball instead of waiting for it, the least that could've happened was a DPI called on Peterson bc he clearly didn't play the ball since he got beat. I understand JG threw it late and was under thrown but a good WR helps his QBs on throws like this all the time.

Def falls on KB, if he goes up to make an attempt Def PI is called.

That's the key. If you attack the ball the defender will automatically slam in to you and you'll get that call every time. Veteran intelligence like when Fitz grabbed the ball and sprinted to give it to the refs for the last second FG. Their star players played smarter this game and came through when needed. Meanwhile, Kwon is still covering a receiver 25 yards down field with Kyler 10 yards past the LOS (so he can't throw) and it's a first down on 3rd and 20. LOL

Yeah mental mistake. He thought he was in between on that play.

Are coaches challenges still in effect for pass interference? There were 3 highly questionable ones....the one where the Arizona WR was holding Williams and they called the hold on Kwan. Then another it looked almost exactly like the call that went against Kittle in the super bowl, but this time it was called on us. Then a call I've seen go against Witherspoon a billion times, where he face guards someone and doesn't turn around and gets a call.

Nope PI challenges are done lol one yr that was it

Saints cried so hard the NFL bit and realized it was a disaster in practice.
The outcome of the game was determined by a few plays.
1. The blocked punt
2. The Niners failure to score from the 1 yard line
3. The defensive holding call when the Niners had the Cards stopped. They would have punted from the end zone and the Niners would have had it around mid field.
4. Later in that drive, the Niners get called for a late hit on Murray which was highly questionable. They were able to continue the drive and score the TD.
5. Murray's runs. It kills a defense when you have the play covered and guys like him keep making big plays. Jimmy is a better QB but he can't make those kind of plays.

Those late hits on a QB that runs so much need to be looked at by the league. He didn't slide feet first and the defender tried to miss him and really went over the top. It's really asking a lot from a defender who is bearing down on a runner to be able to avoid even touching him.

That roughing call was ridiculous. If they are going to allow QBs to run around untouched its going to ruin the game even more. I noticed some defenders where laying off when Kyler was slowing down and they he would just juke and burst up the field. On the TD run I think WArd let up.

THIS.

Just let Beathard QB a few downs and have him run and "semi-slide" into a defender. "Roughing the passer, 15 yard penalty, first down" Apparently even when a defender pulls away, as long as the QB is touched, it's a penalty.

All of this is spot-on.

You could see Moseley raising his arms pre snap, Ward talking to him and bam, wide open.

Would have been a great time to use a TO

Yup this was the changing point

And that "late hit" on Greenlaw was total horses s**t

Unfortunately with all the young mobile QBs coming into the league, we are likely to see more and more of those plays and the bad calls that go with them. Maybe it's time to look to the future and find a QB like that.

When we we are up 42-6 in our next game against the Terdinals with four minutes left we should have all of our ball carriers start sliding to troll that little pipsqueak tiny head hobbit looking mofo.

Nice rundown. I'd just add one more that Jimmy was very indecisive when his first read wasn't there. Can't tell if he didn't see open WRs or there aren't any open WRs. The film will tell us this.

The only receiver we've had in YEARS that even remotely attempts to contest jump balls is Deebo.

It's like they're coached not to or something. It's one of those things every other team does but us and it's kind of deflating, and honestly a little bizarre.

Also Brunskill gets shoulder checked by TW as he's pulling. Just enough to throw the timing of the play off and may have been enough to get the TD had this error been corrected. These are timing and cohesion issues that do get fixed with familiarity and continuity within the offensive line. At least that's what I'm telling myself to cope with the loss.
