I just think it's really neat that a running back can slide into a defensive player for a potential extra 15 yards. That's an awesome rule and will surely lead to me watching more football.

The one on Greenlaw I can kind of understand. The one on Hyder was complete BS. Murray went head first and Hyder made an effort to NOT fall on top of Murray.

How effing hard would it be to review their own real-time calls on such critical calls. Arg.

Especially when a running QB (not one of the delicate flowers that these rules were written for...) is obviously trying to get that call thrown by charging straight at someone, then sliding at the very last possible second to ensure there is contact, then jumping up and waving at the refs like it was their fault. I'll be honest, I was hoping someone would take one for the team and just blast that little a*****e in the head and end his season.

After the Hyder flag I was saying, "might as well get your money's worth".

Yup. Might as well suplex him and give us a chance to win.

This game took a lot out of me. It was just bad on all fronts. I put this loss on Shanny, but there's blame to go around. The secondary got torched by an inaccurate passer. WR's couldn't get open against the leagues worse pass defense in 2019, in particular Pettis and Taylor. To be sure Shanny is the best play schemer in the league. There isn't a coach in the league who can scheme and design plays better than him, including Andy Reid. But whatever philosophy he has regarding WR's its failing, and failing bigtime. Why he's not featuring Bourne more is beyond me. He's been the team's most liable WR, yet Kyle isn't (or it doesn't seem he isn't) designing plays for him. He seems to remain a 3rd or 4th option. Bourne may not be a pro bowl speedster but he's been the most steady for us. So he should be used more.

But can someone tell me why Taylor started? Could he even get himself open? Ouside of speed I'm just at a loss as to what Shanny is trying to accomplish at the WR position. It seems that Shanny really want to be proven right on Pattis and Taylor, to the point of costing games. And what of Kyle's pet project Pettis? It was if he wasn't even on the field. I saw a play were it appeared the play was designed for him and he couldn't get open, forcing Jimmy to hold the ball for far too long.

Mostert had himself an excellent game. But there were stretches in the game where Jet was in and I just could not understand why. I know it was his first game back but McKinnon didn't give us much, and neither did Coleman. Like Pettis and Taylor it seems that McKinnon is another player-project that Shanny just cannot move on from. He has to be proven right on them.

And Jimmy G. He had a terrible game. There were more than a few bad throws and awful reads. On several plays he just didn't see guys who were wide open. I don't know if the defense was just fooling him or he just isn't refined at reading defenses. In any event he has to get better, but I feel that comments like "has to get better" is starting to wear thin.

This loss bothered me, on so many levels. Kyle HAS to get out of his ego about certain pet players. He also has to get better at coaching with a lead and stop getting too cute with his play calling. My confidence took a real shot in this game. Getting back to the SB? We're not winning more than 5 games playing like we played against Cards yesterday.

How are you gonna call out the two backs when Mostert barely did anything outside of that catch ?? He had 50 yards on the ground on 15 carries. If that was mckinnon or coleman they would get bashed

"Something that really, really got me heated yesterday — and I'm not going to call any names or anything like that — during the break, they were playing music," Rice explained, "and we had certain guys dancing that hadn't done anything on the football field; that didn't have a reception or anything. That's not the standard of the San Francisco 49ers.

If you want to dance, you want to be a dancer or do whatever, you shouldn't be wearing that uniform. You've got to be productive. You've got to contribute to the team. And if you can't do that, go do something else. That really just pissed me off. The Niners are not about that."

love it

There is definitely a feel of overconfidence in this team. After going up 10 you could feel it. There wasn't a sense of urgency or instinct to drive the final nail in and remove all doubt about who the better team was. We let them hang around and hang around and it even felt like the officials decided to join in the play as well. LOL

We saw that in the Superbowl right after the T.Moore pick too and IIRC, Sherman talked about that.

"this aint over. this aint over"

Yeah, that one! TY

mic'd up.

I thought that left guard guy should've got flagged for that. Also I think ford was trying to hold contain, even though his get off was slow af.

Hold contain by running himself out of contain?

Said this the 1st several pages and will say it again: Given no preseason and limited summer workouts, a mobile QB like Murray has the clear advantage over a team like ours with a limited passer.

That's exactly what we saw as things played out.

Hopefully we haven't shot our playoff chances by the time the passing game gets rolling.
