Jimmy is a lot closer in ability to Mullens than he is to Young and Mullens may be better than Jimmy now. Nobody here seems to believe it's possible that Mullens could have improved since his rookie year as an UDFA when he played well. Yet they also think that Jimmy is just going to magically correct the issues that have plagued him since he's gotten here despite there being no signs that he will.

Jimmy is just another QB like Smith or Kaep or Garcia. Someone who has enough talent to occasionally shine, but has flaws in his game that prevent him from being the long term answer. And he doesn't deserve to be elevated over those guys.

Been preaching it for a long time. Jimmy is a great guy to root for but in reality he lacks key QB skills to succeed at the highest levels. I wish him nothing but the best because if he succeeds then the niners succeed and that's all i care about.

If this season gets out of hand, I would love to see what Mullens can do. I am very high on the kid.

Actually I disagree. Jimmy works best when he's playing the New England Josh McDaniel offense. Have y'all forgotten how well Jimmy played in 2017. He wasn't tentative, made good quick decisions. He's tentative in this offense. Why not mix in some New England offense to strengthen his confidence?

he's better in the shotgun with everyone spread out

Exactly, use elements of the spread offense.

Yup seriously lol. We better have a statement game and smash these guys
We might win a close game but don't surprised if they take another L.

If we lose to the Jets, I will 100% start hitting the panic button at that point.
1. Too many injuries
2. East coast early start
3. Against a team that has nothing to lose and is called worst team in the league.
4. Defensive coordinator with a history of blitzes and dirty play

I'm too despondent to look through the thread, but has anyone felt that Shanny called some poor play packages toward the end of the game? Where did Reed go? Did we not have someone other than TT to run that last route into the end zone? That was sad looking.

Sorry, wrong thread.

Nope

100% Jimmy's fault for that loss!

Hope you know I'm kidding.. yes, where was the playcalling with the misdirection in the running & passing game, rolling jimmy out to open things up a bit? How about running it a few times in the last 10 mins of the game?
Yes, I thought the playcalling left much to be desired for this game.
