Offensive adjustments for week 2

Obviously it was a frustrating loss. Not having multiple starters, plus a banged up TE is hard to overcome, but there was still enough talent to win this game. Jimmy G isn't going anywhere, just to get that out of the way. That said, here are a few ideas for changes against the Jets:

1) Put Richie James on IR and either sign Sanu or bring up Kevin White. Not saying either would be a savior, but James pulled his hamstring and has minimal to no value as a WR. He's a kickoff returner and most are touchbacks anyway. Put McKinnon back there instead. Hopefully Aiyuk is back healthy, so 2 new WRs to the mix.

2) Lean on the run more. Get 30+ rushes out of Mostert, Coleman and McKinnon. And stick with it if it's working. Niners are built (especially now) to be a run first team.

3) Employ 2 or 3 TE looks and utilize them. Perhaps the matchups will be favorable for Kittle, Reed, and Dwelley to be on the field together. Baltimore 2.0.

4) Spread the ball around. This is tricky because Jimmy shouldnt force it to anyone, but make the defense account for everyone. Bubble screen, shovel pass, take a deep shot if its 1 on 1. Which leads to....

5) Male the defense defend the whole field. The short to intermediate middle is where Jimmy looks to go. We all know this. The longest air traveled pass was to a FB! Great play design, just need more of it to push the ball downfield. If the line can block for it of course...

What else do you think?

It sucks to lose the opener, but with what we've all been through this year, still really excited football's back. Just 1 game and I fully expect to be 2-1 after the NJ games. But mobile QBs are a killer...
I like it. Here's my bullet points

1) Put your ego aside and bench Pettis. Move him to inactive. Then admit you were wrong on the draft pick (This won't happen)

2) Pray that Aiyuk is healthy for Week 2 and start him

3) Look into signing Taylor Gabriel. Bench Trent Taylor.

4) Keep running it with Mostert/McKinnon/Coleman/Juice. Only pass on rollouts and bootlegs. I don't give a f**k if its the Jets defense. Stop being cocky and think you'll just waltz in there and score. Garappolo isn't looking good right now. Only start passing it once you have a comfortable lead to try and get his confidence going because I'm pretty sure its at an all time low right now.

5) Depending on Kittle's injury, start using more tight ends

6) Defensively....not sure what you can do. I might pull the plug on Kwon and start Greenlaw if Kwon continues to suck ass.

I was drinking pretty heavily so I could be wrong, but I was surprised to not see more two TE looks

Jimmy needs to stop dumping the ball off and try completing some of his passes to our Wr's.

Yeah he didn't really seem to look downfield that much
Involve Jordan Reed. No one else is a threat besides him and Kittle. Hope Aiyuk returns and maybe get Sanu. Pettis is dead to me.

Oh come on, when has that ever worked
Hand off more aka run the ball to setup play action. And don't get your TE killed when you do throw the dump off.

We didn't have all our WRs today, but there were plays that needed to be made when our WR did get open. Even the broadcaster pointed it out a few times. One of them when KB had beat one of the corners (would've been a easy td) and Jimmy had time in the pocket but his "quick decision" makes him throw a checkdown to juice for like 2 yards or it was incomplete. Jimmy did this alot last year too, lots of plays left on the field. I'm hoping he can improve on those mistakes this year, but after week 1 its still there.

Jimmy can and will do it, just needs to get back up to game speed and needs to get some receivers who come back to the ball, fight for the ball and are big enough to take the ball over defenders. Then you can get it out early and not have to wait and see if they will get clear. No one could have much confidence in the guys who were out there today.
Loose the muther effing brace
I was going to add the same thing. Jimmy needs to lose the brace and try to throw normally again. Hope to see Aiyuk start at WR and bring up White,
Convert 3rd downs so you can have a rhythm on O
