one thing that's always noticeable is when harris enters the game in tartt's place. he's always trying to make some kind of play versus playing his assignment. it was super apparent when he attacked the wrong shoulder on the kupp lead block and having too much depth on the goal line run. I remember last year against the ravens he was driving me nuts against the lamar jackson zone read runs.

thought this was a good play by him.

Haha, I knew someone was going to mention that forced fumble and recovery play and I was thinking about making a footnote for it. One good play doesn't excuse him from making his errors on his assignment. He plays like an armless dashon goldson

Watched closely all of Hasty's carries vs LAR and I think one thing he has over Jet is decisiveness. Too often I see Jet quickly press the edge on an outside zone run (good), then stutter step before he hits the hole (bad). Hasty does not do this. He makes a decision and goes with it.
He usually did not gain more yards than what was blocked for him imo. Although his 10 yard run did show good vision to run it off the backside block. Easily his best run, not just in terms of yardage but also display of vision. He did not have any pass protection snaps.

I am keeping in mind that reserves like Hasty depend on preseason to get their live reps. This was basically his first preseason game (had 2 carries vs NYG). I think he deserves to be the primary 1st and 2nd down back. Sprinkle some Jet in on those 1st/2nd downs. Jet is the 3rd down back.

If Aiyuk makes that block Hasty is taking it to the crib.

Ladies and gentlemen, this was such a fun game to watch from a film standpoint. The cat and mouse game between Shanahan and Belichick was so fun to watch. Joe Thomas said last year that Shanahan loved scheming the run game a lot more than the pass game. This was like BB vs Peyton Manning but in the run game. Bill kept shifting his fronts back and forth and Kyle seemed always one step ahead on his fronts and coverages. It was pure awesome to watch. Hope you enjoy!
Good stuff as always
All hail Jonnydel!

The play at 4:10 where Kittle ran an indirect pick on the CB covering Deebo. That was so blatant it had to be intentional. Slick!

Kyle isolating the lone off ball LB in NE's 6-1 front was crafty.

You cut up the 20 yard shovel to Aiyuk and mentioned the mesh point causing the WILL to freeze. Brunskill also pulled away from where Aiyuk was going to provide more misdirection. Those little shovel pass plays are simple plays with easy individual assignments for the offense, but there's so much going on for box defenders to process.

Good stuff.

Right on, jonny.
cat and mouse chess match? I thought Shanahan was calling plays to hide and protect Jimmy G?

I actually was re-watching just the broadcast game highlights and remember this is exact specific play you are talking about. Kittle basically ran a streak/seam up the middle directed right at that DB to block lol

Hasty sells this so well too. no difference in the way he is running with or without the ball in his hands
Nice breakdown!

Just started watching. Hoodie playing defense with 10 defenders. lol the #6 guy pointing out that they are missing a DLman. This is the 1Q Kittle 7 yard catch.

(just noticed jd pointed this out in his video)

Not a fun play for that guy. First he gets hit by Kittle, then trucked by Deebo. Only thing missing is for Trent Williams to fall on him.
