Sanders was quietly disappointed at the lack of passing game with the Niners last year especially in the playoffs. The Niners closed knit locker room and Niners winning games were the reasons he didn't complain publicly bc it'll make him look stupid and selfish. He made up his mind to go to a passing team when he becomes a FA. A lot of players cares more about their stats than winning games bc that's how they get paid big bucks.

I'll add to that. Trade up to select Aiyuk, resigning ward, failing to address the interior of the line, not drafting cece lamb. The only two things this team did right was the kittle extension and bringing in Jordan Reed.

edit: I forgot to add the trade for Trent Williams was a plus for the team.

No it was not a mistake and plus we did not let him go, we just did not want to spend the $$$ on him which I agree. I'd much rather have Aiyuk than Sanders. More upside.
and having Sanders wouldn't solve much. WR"s really haven't been the issue at all. We don't have a QB to get them the ball, and an OL to setup the play.
