The D-line was already so so without Buckner, without Bosa plus an extremely injury prone Dee Ford you don't stand a chance. Our D is built from front to back, not to mention Sherman is already on IR.

The only way out is to do what we did last year when the D wasn't delivering namely during the period when Dee Ford was down. In other words, win with offense, that is the only way. But, will that be enough or will it take us far? Probably not.

The team will rally and the front office will need to not only start calling people for workouts, but to actually make signings. Not that we have much cap left, but I see EDGE as the priority. Start by promoting Dion Jordan from the practice squad, but that won't be enough, will need more.
I'm not ready to throw in the season yet, but possibly the 49ers front office can use this season and a rebuild/reload year if the season turns out to be a disaster. Basically (God forbid) if we have a great draft position, we can finally get some depth at DB, OLine, and get more quality at possibly the DE and QB positions.

There is still a very very small chance that Bosa's injury isn't as bad as we all think it is, and that's all that's keeping me sane right now.

If Shanahan can outright say "probably ACL", it is probably ACL. Hasn't Bosa torn his ACL before at Ohio State? If so, he probably knows what it feels like.

Realistically, I think we can still win games, like I said win with offense and Jimmy G and the crew will have to literally overperform. But, there is only so far you can go when you are so undermanned. And Jimmy G will most likely be out for a at least a couple of games too? Sigh...

Sure we will win some games, the next few are very winable with Mullens. Jimmy G could be out up to 6 weeks with just a normal high ankle sprain. I expect him to be put on the 3 week ir at minimum. On D I dont think things will be so bad, just need to get all our other people back. Sure we arnt going to have the pass rush of last season but we still should be able to generate some pressue!

6 weeks?! If that is the case, we are done. Mullens will find it much harder to pull out wins. He is not at Jimmy G's level.

NFC West is too tough a divison and the teams are all playing well. The Rams and Cards won again and won big. The Seahawks are playing now and I predict they will win too. So, we will still be at the bottom of NFC West and if Jimmy G is going to be gone for 6 weeks? No chance.

High ankle sprains are usually 4-6 weeks diagnosis. But all depends on what grade it is, and have to think he didnt do any favors by playing on it for a quarter. I would guess he is back around the Patriots / Toots game. We should be able to go at least 2-2 during those 4 games. Trouble if we need to go into Patriots / Toots / Packers / Saints.
I'm 30 years old I'm starting to think I'll never experience a championship in my adult hood

This game feels like a mini Super Bowl loss even though we won. I'm drowning my sorrows in alcohol. Rip baby Bosa, Jimmy g for 4 weeks and Mostert maybe a few games.
Now if covid could simply just shut down the season, that would be great lol

2-2 is not going to cut it. All those teams are playing well right now. Oh one other thing. Mostert is out too? This season will be a write-off.

Which means we are used to playing with a non superstar at that position. Thomas is easily replaced with Kinlaw. Mostert is good, but we have depth there.

This season isn't lost.

I agree
Well at least McKinnon, Reed and Aiyuk all looked like studs. And we won so there's that.

Sthu. People like you took this virus and made it worse than it actually was. Player and the NFL were so worried about testing they took the preparation it takes to get you body ready for an NFL season for granted.

We should be awarded an extra 1st round draft pick for having to play on that field.
