Do we still make the playoffs?

Sounds about right on the record. Jimmy g is clearly becoming a stop gap quarterback type of situation. He is clearly our best option right now in terms of availability and $$, but looking for the future is as important as ever.

We can't pretend or expect that we will find any quarterback worth a damn in the draft any time soon. See Josh Rosen and the other dozens of busts from rounds 1-3 and the dudes who fill practice squads in rounds 4-7... it's very possible even if we started drafting for a future qb next year, that we don't even find a viable replacement for 5 years and even then, how much of an upgrade will it be over a mid tier qb like jimmy g? Looking for the next Patrick mahomes takes a certain amount of luck and simply turning in the draft pick and having it flop quarterback and see what you get. You miss 100% of the chances you don't take.

Yup! QBs are a strange lot to draft. Luckily, we if can find one that is accurate and can make quick reads, Kyle's offense can make a star out of them. But it takes the right type.
I think the Niners should be given the 1st overall pick as compensation for that garbage field they played on.
Bosa plays defense and he is one guy. As long as you have a QB and a legit D, always have a chance
2020 is a B1T€h
In this division, no.
It's gonna be tough. If we get the other guys healthy we may can sneak in as a wildcard but I'm not getting my hopes up.

This right here. IF and big IF we get healthy we can make a run. We don't know what other injuries other teams will get or how COVID can still impact the season or a team. It's still to early to give up hope.
Next man up doesn'nt work when the guy you lose is an all pro talent that demands double teams and is a part of unit that is the focal point of our defense. We also lost a depth guy in Thomas. It's just being realistic, we've literally seen how hard this defense falls off when the pass rush isn't dominant. And that was with Buckner.

The hope is with the offense in my opinion. We always have a chance to win a game the way we control the game and run the clock. We just gotta finish more drives this year, field goals aren't going to cut it.

Going to be tough. These are key guys that are injured and the division is brutal. The extra playoff seed is nice, still seems like a long shot and then blowing the AZ could bite them in the ass. Hoping for a 1997-esque season. Lost a lot of guys game 1, but were able to eek out a win in STL with Druckenmiller the following week then went on a tear after that.
if the 49ers were any other division then I would say there still a decent chance..bt the NFC West is the most toughest division...Rams, Seahawks and Cardinals are all 2-0...the NFC West wins are 7-1..the only Division are all the teams are 500 or above right now...and the NFC West are undefeated (8-0) against teams outside of there division. A NFC West team has made a super bowl appearance the past 2 seasons...and the 49ers lost some of its best players....bt I will watch them every game and cheer them on...bt if any team can still make the playoffs without there some of there best players.. its our 49ers....
I think if our offense can stay healthy then yes we have a good shot at making the playoffs as a wildcard.
Pessimist: At this point, it's quite possibly a no, sadly. Too many injuries to star and starting players. I think it's too much to overcome.

Optimist: The major injuries happened at the best time, tbh. We can get wins still against weaker opponents the next few weeks, and get many of our starters back before the schedule turns tough. I'm thinking we can sneak in as a wild card, 6th or 7th seed.

Realist: The season's early, anything could happen.

This is true plus he's always drawing double teams. Once DJ Jones came in for Solomon our interior pass rush was great. That guy is very underrated. Armstead also stepped his game up after the injuries. I still think our defense can be top 10. Get Sherman healthy and hopefully Verrett can stay healthy and I think we'll be fine.
