Yeah, but dumping $27 million a year in salary would mean we could pick up a few other contracts. I don't recommend doing it as I don't think Mullens is a starting QB (not yet at least) but let's remember that Jimmy is being paid a lot.

Any starting QB worth having is going to be paid a lot. Period.

Agreed. The question is just that ... is Jimmy worth paying franchise money. I would say the answer is very much in doubt at this point.

In doubt only to you. Luckily the people in charge know better.

If you dont' at least question Jimmy after the SB and his general play since the injury then I think you aren't watching him play. He's clearly not playing like a franchise QB.

here we go. We don't make the playoffs without Jimmy G last year. He was playing good last week on a bum ankle. Mullens had himself a good game today. Does not mean he is better than Jimmy the coaches know this.

This.

Its not a crazy thought considering how Jimmy has played this year. If he continues looking lack luster, I would dump him and start Mullens. Williams needs to stay. Jimmy wasn't even important in the playoffs or SB anyway.

Not saying we should do it for sure, but I was thinking about it before even seeing Mullens play. Too much money in Jimmy for what he's being asked to do.

Yeah, I recommend starting Jimmy once healthy (even if Mullens balls out for every game) to see what we have in him. I really recommend drafting a QB if Jimmy just looks like an above average QB.

Buf came through. Aided by a questionable PI against the Rams on 4 th and 9.

This place will be insufferable this week.

Yup. Mullens is gonna be crowned the next great QB

Nick Mullens...NM....New Montana?

Well I believe he did break Brett Favres records in college. Shouldn't be surprised.

P.S.... #16 didn't have a super strong arm either
Bills with a late TD

Maybe. Depends on Moseley's injury more than anything, IMO.

All right so which team can we get to trade for Mullens?

More like who can we trade Jimmy to so we can sign Trent Williams long term.

Jimmy is currently middle of the pack for highest paid QB. His contract was front loaded. If you're going to troll, at least know the basics.

NFL QB's make big, big money. Doesn't matter who you have. The top backups in this league make 8-12 mil. You aren't going to find a starting QB who you can win with for under 20-25 mil a year. Thats not salary you can sacrifice for other positions. You never "save" money on the QB position.

The only time you get top tier QB play for cheap is if you draft a star. Then you get 3-4 years of dirt cheap QB before you have to pay up.

Moving Garoppolo to save money is one of the dumbest ideas ive ever heard.
Yes Bills and the Refs
Giants ?

You replace Jimmy with Mullens last year and I would argue that the 9ers still make the playoffs.
