We had a "mobile QB" his name was Colin Kaepernick. Didn't turn out too well. Jimmy is the franchise QB, get used to it

This isn't basketball.Despite a horrendous amount of injuries, we're 2-2 and have lost those two by a combined 9 points.
Now, I highly doubt we can even sniff that #1 seed because Seattle and a couple other teams are off to a good start... but our stars have started returning. This is a playoff roster once we get everyone back, but we've got work to do. If we can get a Wild Card spot with good health, we have as good a shot as any in the playoffs.

Agree.
Health is the #1 prerequisite for the playoffs. If we are healthy and playing well at the end of the season, even if we are only 8/8, we can roll some teams. We have more and better weapons on offense this year than last. That will make up for a lot of the loss of Bosa. We can win some shootouts with the talent we have when healthy.

I mean, Seattle's chances rely on two ACLs in Wilson's knees. Same goes for KC and Mahomes, New Orleans and Brees, and on down the line. The top contenders could be in very similar situations as SF with losing Jimmy for a few games and Bosa for the season as soon as next weekend for all we know. There's no reason for this team to not scratch and claw for all they can muster until they are officially eliminated.

We tank only if we get a true proper replacement for Deforest Buckner. Until that happens, the defense is screwed.
