Impact of not having Buckner

The 49ers are giving up about the same yards per game that they did with DeFo, but a half-yard less per attempt. Also last season the 49ers only had 4 regular season games where they held the opponent to less than 100 rush yards, they've already done it twice in a month [I know the Giants/Jets without Saquon and Le'Veon are trash]

Our run defense could be fools gold playing 2 terrible, 1 bad and only 1 good running offenses so far

I acknowledged that in my last sentence.
I'm not as thrilled flying up to watch games. That's DeFo's direct impact for me.

I think we have to wait and see our tough stretch but so far it looks like Kinlaw is very promising and without watching the All22, it looks like our dline is not communicating, not pass rushing as a unit, and our DE containment is atrocious. If Wentz can bust loose, imagine what R.Wilson's gonna do to us.
The middle of the line is not the issue. Bosa is the one we're missing.

Take the eagles game. Take the same s**tty inured roster. Take the same s**tty QB play. Plug Bosa in. We win that game.

Now do the same and plug Buckner in instead of bosa and more then likely we still end up with the L.

Screw the salary cap.. well, not all the way.. but my point here is that players who deserves to get paid should get paid instead of trying to use some kinda scotch tape to patch up the hole.

at this moment, no matter how bright Kinlaw's future is, I still believe that the money should have gone to Bucko instead of AA, Ward and Kinlaw.. and for that matter, we could have traded AA for a lower pick in the 1st round, who knows, Kinlaw could have been there still..

Oh come on. Don't fantasise. I can't find anyone predicting that Kinlaw would drop any lower than #16. But when players who deserve to get paid are paid, nothing is left in the pot for future players who deserve to get paid.

you're making my side hurts !! STOP IT!!

You need to worry about keeping the right players who deserve to get paid in order to keep winning so that you can keep your job THEN worry about players who needs to get paid when their time come.. You don't even know how good those players will be after 3 years, why not wait and see.. or better yet, you don't even know if you're going to be running the team by then..

as for Kinlaw not being there, Cee Dee Lamb fell to the Cowboys at 17, who cares about anyone's prediction.. I bet you didn't see that coming either.. so who to say that all teams after the 13th pick liked Kinlaw??

Do you actually think that it was a good decision that we paid AA-Ward and drafted Kinlaw than keeping Bucko??

HONEST PLEASE.

Bitter pill to swallow. Buck is such a class guy. Listened to him on Rome's show last week. Colts are lucky to have him.

As usual with you, the goalposts keep moving rendering any discussion pointless.
This is going to hurt for awhile. Buckner was the heart n soul of the team...if we had 2 armsteads it still wouldn't equal 1 bucker. It was a terrible decision
You guys do realize Armstead is the fourth rated and in all of football only behind TJ Watt, Khalil Mack and Myles Garrett. I love Buckner but we have to see if the trade-off is worth it because we did save money, got better against the run in my opinion, and got to resign much needed players. Kinlaw is great against the run and he's already swatting down passes and making some crucial plays like we saw last week.

Again AA is 4th per PFF

Lets see, this season we have endured our
  • QB out for 2 games,
  • both top RBs (Mostert/Coleman) out for multiple games
  • Top playmaker (Kittle) out for 1.5 games
  • Deebo out for 3 games
  • 1st round WR (Aiyuk) out for one of the games we lost
  • top corner (Sherman) out for multiple games
  • 2nd corner (Moseley) out for multiple games
  • both edges (Ford/Bosa) out for multiple games

With Buckner the outcome of this season would be the same. Not sure how many other teams can lose those types of players above and still be 2-2.

The defense has nice stats right now, but I think that's mainly from playing bad QBs. I'm scared to think what a top QB would do to the current 49ers defense.

Kinlaw isn't Buckner, but he's closer to Bucker than Hyder is to Bosa. As far as the intangibles that Buckner brings that's a legit concern. Warner seems to have emerged as the leader of the defense to help make up for it.

All of this.

4th per PFF is not bad, elguapo.

Missing ford and bosa hurts just as much.
I really wish we would have kept Buckner over Armstead!! Don't you all agree!?
