Is it time to panic now?

Panic? Nah, the season is over but when healthy this is still a really good team. We need to secure a better QB and address interior line, but the D and skill players are elite when we are healthy. Ideally we get a good QB in free agency and land a blue chip prospect picking around 8-10 given where we are headed and rebound strong next year. I would love to land Rogers, move Sherm to Safety and draft an elite kid to play opposite Varrett. Then go interior line 2 and 3rd. If we can't get Rogers, I would be looking hard at Cousins, Luck or Maybe Matt Ryan. Should one of them unretire or shake loose.
I'm just glad I didn't drop $300 for GamePass to watch this $#!7.
Yes.

This. And a part of that is because I didn't think our offense could carry us like our defense did last year. Been proven right.

Yup.

Truth is the season went south on opening day. When we lost 2 starting D linemen for the season and one is Bosa, things suddenly got really tough. The loss of Buckner was magnified when we lost them. The we find out Ford has a back injury and he hasn't played. Sherman went out late in game one and hasn't played since. Greenlaw and other defensive players have all missed time. I don't like to use injuries as excuses since every team loses players but when your team is built to win around the defense and you lose so many starters it's pretty much over.

Now the schedule gets really tough and the offense is sputtering too. The only way would make the playoffs is if we played in the NFC East. Hopefully next season gets back to normal.

I don't see next year being markedly better than this year.

Hard disagree, we have some spots to fix but tons of talent and a great staff. When healthy this team is as good as anybody. If we had an elite QB we might even still be contending.

Well, if JG doesn't improve over the next couple of games... yup. Lets face it, at the moment, the 49ers have the worst QB in the west... not good when you realize that the other three... are not that bad.

If I was Lynch, I'd be praying that New England wants JG back and hoping for a third day pick in exchange. Trever Lawrence should be the goal if things don't get better tomorrow. Otherwise, pray for a reclamation project from the Jets or Washington....
Panic? When we lost Bosa I knew our chances of challenging again were slim, then half the team got hurt.

Not going to panic but I'm worried.
Yes, it's over. Injuries and total lack of cohesion have done too much damage and I don't see us coming back from it. Even when starters return, it'll be too little too late.

The offense is in shambles. If you can't block, nothing else is going to work. We cannot pass or run at will. You've got to be good enough at one or the other to be able to setup things consistently in either facet. Simply put, barring a miracle, we're screwed.

None of this is going to happen, we aren't bad enough to get Lawrence, Jimmy will likely get cut rather than traded because of cap and signing a new QB and there are a million better options than Jets and Washington left overs

This team has holes, and it will have more after the season. They don't have the cash to secure everyone, or anyone significantly better in FA (assuming they pay to bring back Williams). If they hit a home run in the draft, sure. But, that's statistically unlikely.
They are not going to be bad enough for Trevor Lawrence. But they may be in the top 5. I would be scouting other QBs other than Lawrence and pray that someone else is good enough for Kyle's system. Which again, he is pretty picky on what he likes. Which is another thing . Hopefully he gets over that s**t and really re-evaluates why he passed over Watson and Mahomes.

Justin Fields is very good.

It's been shown dozens of times in multiple threads that they have plenty of cap flexibility to keep the team intact next year. You keep harping on this but it simply isn't true

Tons of people would have passed on Mahommes many mocks didn't even have him in the first round. Stop acting like a hindsight genius
