Most any team Lynch would trade with will want draft picks...no mas. Just don't have that luxury this season. If we get Blair, Julian Taylor, K'Wan & Sherman back we'll be in considerably better shape.

How about AA and his way too expensive contract for Dunlop, Adkins, and Ross from Cincy?

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/10/20/report-geno-atkins-frustrated-by-role-with-bengals/
It's Atkins not Adkins and Dunlap not Dunlop.
And he is a 3t which we drafted Kinlaw for so it doesn't make dollars and it don't make cents.
Lastly, this team is not going to trade AA after they just resigned him in March. Get used to him being here for now.
Agree he isn't going anywhere.
AA is the #8 ED in the league. His play has been consistent all season long - equal with last season. You just don't trade a guy who has stayed at that level. Yes, it would be nice to have a better pass rusher, however, it is not his fault that Bosa and Ford are not available to do what they were signed to do. AA is doing his part.
People just seem to think this is Madden, while it's just stupid to trade AA in general let alone for TWO OLDER players who are playing on the ends of their bloated contracts
SO we would eat AA's dead money for like 4 yrs (because we just signed him), take on Atkins avg $15M per yr salary for 2 and a half yrs, and Dunlap's $12M avg yr salary for the next yr and 1/2?? WTF....ALSO Dunlap straight up blows at this point. He's simply not good anymore.
I mean do we want Cinci to bend us over? How can anyone logically think this makes any sense at all?

Moon for the 100th time, THEY ARE NOT moving AA. This isn't 1989, there's an actual cap now. They would literally have 4 yrs worth of $5M in dead money....it's NOT gonna happen.

Nothing splashy, if something could be done at Guard/ Center that either plugs a hole long term or is cheap for a rental I would kick the tires, but with at best a flat cap and maybe a lower one, no big moves, gotta board draft picks and the injuries this year make us a long shot.

IF is the key word. Blair had a setback and sounds like the earliest he would even start practicing is week 12 Same with Taylor, who's not an edge rusher anyway.
They need an actual edge rusher....who knows if Ford ever plays this yr and if so, how much can they trust him? We got AA playing out of position and Hyder is solid. That's not gonna cut it if we want to win some games and make it back to the playoffs.
No one is talking about giving up a top 50 pick here. Throw a player and a day 3 pick for someone.

I think overall the cap will adjust to the market in 2021...meaning players will get signed, but not for the top end market like in the past. I mean unless they want to play for the Jags or Jets lol.
I see some shorter yr deals and guys not getting as much, sucks for players coming up on a contract. Such is life in the free market/capitalism lol

A couple of teams restructured contracts of starting guards by converting salary into bonuses to create 2020 cap space:
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) October 21, 2020
▪️Buccaneers with Ali Marpet: $4.125M created
▪️49ers with Laken Tomlinson (voidable years added): $1.34M created
hmmmm

Per @FieldYates, the #49ers took $1.34M of Laken Tomlinson's $3.5M base salary and turned it into a signing bonus.

Per OTC, they'd have around $5.2M in cap space after this move.
Looks like they've added "ghost" years to spread the cap hit into 2022 and beyond.

If they actually lower the cap next year because revenues are down, it's going to be interesting to see how many free agents will accept less money. We could see some holdouts around the league. Maybe they'll just keep the cap where it is.

It's gonna be lower then what it was suppose to be pre-COVID. Lowest it can go is $175M, thinking around $198M is what people are thinking (hopefully).
Who would be holding out? 2021 FAs are just gonna be unlucky, it's just how capitalism works. I think that's why shorter deals will happen.
There's probably gonna be almost $1B in losses in cap space. Revenue goes up players piece of the pie goes up, revenue goes down their piece of the pie goes down.
