You do have a choice it's not to hit him. Ward was looking for contact and lowered his helmet. He was completely unaware of the fact that Wilson was sliding low and in the process hit him in the head helmet to helmet. I don't think Ward is a dirty player but he is a clueless one. That was a bad play on his part.
