I think JG time here could be numbered, but a viable replacement would have to be in place.

I like him but he has regressed. Not sure why..injury..whatever

I think he's still injured and has been for the majority of this season. You could see even early on that he wasn't transferring his weight on to both legs evenly. They've had some success doing everything they can to work around his ankle injury but its time to just let him sit and recover fully.

You think this is the reason for some of Kyle's head scratching play calling this game / year

Accept the fact that we are fighting for the 5th or 6th seed and hope we somehow get HOT during the POST SEASON...

we can only hope for the 1988 repeat !!!

I figured this season was cursed as soon as I heard the phrase "Revenge Tour" It was over when who ever utters those words first.
Rams losing was huge because that's the team I feel the Niners will be fighting with for that last playoff spot. I feel 3 teams from the NFC west will make the playoffs. As I see only 1 team from both the east and North making it. And only the Bucs and Saints from the South.

What did we know coming in?

Seattle would score some points. Their defense is weak, especially at CB. We are going to need to score a number of points. Points come out of the passsing game. There is no reason we shouldn't be able to score on these guys through the air.

Kyle tried to win the game on the ground and with defense. Might as well have Harbaugh, except he wants a running qb to cover up his offensive ignorance.

Kyle can't be aggressive, until it's clear the game is otherwise lost.

Kyle does not trust Garoppolo to throw the ball until the game is otherwise lost.

Either Kyle's mindset is too conservative, which has cost him two Super Bowls with large fourth quarter leads, or his quarterbacks are not worthy of trust.

We will be about $30m over the no fans in the stands cap next year, and that approximates Jimmy's cap salary, who would carry almost no dead money.

The trade deadline is Tuesday.

Belichick has lost four in a row with Cam, and he loves Jimmy.

NE is on track to have a high 1st round pick.

Even last year in the playoffs, Kyle didn't trust Jimmy to throw more than eight times a game if he could help it. Sometimes he could. In the Super Bowl, he lost after not putting them away, and then trying to throw too late and when the Chiefs knew it.

Our chances this year to get 6 are now grim.

Offer Jimmy to NE for their 1st, go with Nick the rest of the year, and draft a QB with our or NE's first pick next year.

I love Kyle, but this will be his last chance. Pick a QB, trust him, or leave. Running, conservative teams seldom win Lombardi's against aggressive passing teams, and Kyle hasn't proved he's got the courage to do that.

I don't think you can even get a 2nd rounder for Jimmy if he's injured. If we lose to GB and we can't get reinforcement soon enough then the slide will just continue. If that's the case, yeah I'm ready to get one of the QB with our top pick.

It wasn't being conservative with the lead in SB51 that cost Atlanta the game. It was being too aggressive on offense and having a s**t defense (not Shanny's fault for the latter). Then he did the opposite against KC and it also doesn't work, because that time he needed to be aggressive on offense since the KC offense was unlikely to stay contained by any defense. Also, a 10 point lead and a 25 point lead are vastly different things.

As for Kyle being on his "last chance" - lol, no. Context of this season is too much talent on IR. End of story. Gotta play the long game here. The long game says you want Shanny as your coach in 2030 when Carroll is long retired. Shanny has proven he has out coach McVay, and despite Kingsbury doing okay in Arizona he's not their HC for the next decads plus, odd are.

So Shanny gets a different QB with this talent around him, and he takes his shots year in, year out. Rinse, repeat.

There is no better HC out there to get. Anywhere.

This game sucked for many reasons, especially when it had promise early with the way the D came out, made stops, and provided good field position. Wish the offense could have put some points on the board early and set the tone right away (the Wildcat on 3rd Down and then the INT on the next drive really hurt).

Now, not much time before the Thursday game vs. the Packers and I'm already starting to move on. If this team can somehow come away with a victory in that game, things are still going pretty well during this tough stretch of games. That's a big "if", though, and really hoping Garoppolo and Kittle can play. Also, getting another receiving weapon back in Jordan Reed would help, too.
I think we can only lose 2 more games over the second half of the season to have a shot at the last wild card spot.

Probably. With the NFC East handing out wins to the other divisions it'll take 10 wins to even be the 3rd WC team.

I don't disagree. Get Kyle a qb he can trust. This isn't working.
This team is f**ked because they have a talented roster now without a good QB. If you draft a QB, you set this team back and if you find someone else, you have to teach them the offense which will take another 2 seasons. If you hold on to Jimmy, you are accepting mediocracy. Jimmy Garoppolo regressing this year was truly a worst case scenario for the 49ers.

I'm thoroughly disgusted. I'm not feeling Shanny's personnel control right now.

Some of his best personnel is on IR

Kittle wasn't
Pettis wasn't.
Jet wasn't
Taylor wasn't
Jimmy wasn't
Juice wasn't
The O-line is largely healthy

Were these not players that Shanny coveted? Shanny passed on Metcalf, who just torched us today. Oh yeah, that's right, he's too big and slow, and can't run routes. Not fluid in his hips.

BULLSH!T!!!!

This offense has much of the personnel that SHANNY WANT's. It's NOT trying to overcome the injuries that defense has to overcome. For me the offensive problems are obvious: there's NO WR threat on the outside. NONE! And that's on Shanny and his vision on the WR position.

Message to Shanny: WR's ARE NOT RUNNING BACKS
i knew wearing our alts so soon again would be a f**king waste.

More injury I think than regression but we are stuck if we want the sb window open next year. Have to stick with him. He's obviously not that stud guy but is good enough if everything is in place. This is the cap era. You bail on the qb position now, we prob won't have another window for a long time. It might be over anyway without Defo
