yeah that was a terrible call. One of the worst I've seen in a while. that saved their drive and ended up in a touchdown - huge turn for us. We would of lost anyways, since our offense cant score, but just sucked

I figured we would loose and can accept that. What I hate is the total BS calls teams (with an s) get when their QB isn't one of the "poster QB's" of the NFL, and the leeway some teams get whether it's PI or holding calls etc.

I am not one who thinks every call against the 9ers the refs are out for them. I hate the Seahawks but I can even agree if we commit a fair penalty against them or any other team; however, that BS today was one of the worst calls I've seen this year.

It was only because it was one of the NFL's golden boys they called a late penalty once they saw golden boy say ouch.

If it was a penalty the ref should have flagged it right away, not 10-12 seconds after he saw Brees slow to get up and I guarantee Mullens or Burrow, and about 24-27 other starting QB' wouldnt have gotten the flag.

We all know you can't look at RW and KM cross ways without getting a flag for fifteen.

It is not going to happen but it would be nice if all QB's were treated the same. Either over protect them like the chosen ones or let them all take some hits, they wear pads and helmets also, but be consistent no matter the QB or team.
Brees getting hit legally by a 49ers player, but getting a momentum changing flag is like a tradition at this point.

Mullens took some pops but he didn't get a 300lber land on him.

Yes he did. David Onyemata's hit was much worse.
Man...the defense played so well today. It's a shame the offense couldn't support them better. Kinlaw got his first of many sacks. Hyder got another one. Another guy who's been playing well is slot CB Jamar Taylor. He's one of the b/u's who's taking good advantage of his opportunity. Street definitely got robbed of a clean sack. I get Brees was hurt, but also think he added some drama to it. Too many mistakes on offense & ST's again. Coach is thinking about using Aiyuk as a KR, but I'm not really in favor of that. I know neither Trent Taylor or James have done much, but I'd hate to see Aiyuk returning kicks. Hasty the latest RB to go down. Good thing Mostert & Coleman should be back after the bye. Would still like to see Coach get one bigger RB for 1st down/TD opportunities...it'd take some wear 'n tear off the other guys.

You are correct
The one disheartening thing about this game is the failure to adjust to the blitzing box safety. It's possible it was just the perfect play call by defense at the perfect time, but damn it was constant. The very first 2 drives both started with him basically taking the handoff from mullens. I figured after half time it would have been adjusted but he still came in free and made plays until he got hurt

I was hoping to see The Longest Yard play there at some point.
So Moore and Ward as the starting safeties and Harris in as that 3rd LBer...I dig it.

I was switching around and while watching the Seahawks game I saw the same thing. They used the same type of rush to nail Wilson. Aikman commented that the league was seeing more and more blitzes like that and the offenses were having trouble adjusting to it. Maybe it's the answer to getting on top of the mobile QBs before they have a chance to move.
Brees is apparently "going to miss some time" with the rib injury sustained from the Street sack.

Good. Some retribution for the momentum changing BS call. Football is supposed to be a tough sport Drew.

It's one of the drawbacks to using formations with WRs lined up near the OTs - lots of defenders in the box, any one of them are a threat to blitz. Kyle loves using reduced splits to get his WRs into the run blocking and to make out routes more effective, but if there's a DC willing to blitz his slot CB, then the offense has to be prepared for it.
