He has not been an adequate replacement for the retired Joe Staley. The best move is to trade back from the high pick we will receive for this crappy season and hopefully land two picks, one in the first and hopefully another high in the second, and use them both on beefing up the offensive line. This includes a new left tackle and possibly a center. Quality guards can be found in the 3rd and even the 4th rounds.

The 49ers have plenty of talent at wide receiver, RB and TE, provided they can all stay healthy (I know that's a BIG if). But I'm not sure if McGlinchey is ready or even good enough to take over that left tackle spot that Staley manned for so long. This team has felt his absence the most. The blocking has been mostly putrid, leading to hurt QB's and an ineffective running game.

Get rid of Trent.
Lol

lolllllll someone has only been watching highlights an not the actual games.

He's been an upgrade to Joe

Not even close and please do not wave PFF grades at me. I look at results. The results are a first string QB who is hurt, a second string QB who has been knocked woozy one too many times and injuries to our first, second, third and fourth string RBs.

To be fair, it's not just Trent. McGlinchey's play this season has been surprisingly average to bad. But if our choice is to hand out valuable cap space $$$ to Trent, or build through the draft, I choose draft. The downside is whomever we draft is going to lack Trent's experience. The upside is a young player who is strong enough to collapse the entire left side of the line.

JG was hurt because of Tomlinson. TW struggled in 2 games and has been rock solid ever since. McG has been putrid at best in pass protection. I don't get how your blaming all of the pressure our QBs are facing on Williams. It's been mostly pressure on the right side or up the gut. I also still remember Staley Vs Clowney last year where Staley made Clowney look like he was an elite pass rusher.
FA That Must Stay:
Trent Williams (ball & chain him to the teams facility for all I care, just get him signed)
K'Waun Williams
Jason Verrett (totally proved me wrong, he's EARNED a resigning)
Kyle Juszczyk (a must-have in Kyle's offense)
Jordan Reed
D.J. Jones
Ronald Blair (very key rotational piece we cannot loose)
Ben Garland

FA I Would like back:
Richard Sherman
Solomon Thomas (will be a key rotational piece, but keep him inside)
Jaquiski Tartt
Kendrick Bourne (I really think we need to keep him. He's been among our more reliable, available WR's)
Emmanuel Moseley
Kerry Hyder (would not be surprised to see him resigned)
JaMycal Hasty
Ross Dwelley
Jeff Wilson
Robbie Gould
Daniel Brunskill
Marcell Harris
Jauan Jennings

FA That Must Go:
Trent Taylor
C.J. Beathard
Ahkello Witherspoon
Dontae Johnson (and please don't bring him back)
Jamar Taylor
Tevin Coleman
River Cracraft
Dion Jordan
Ken Webster
Tom Compton

Depends:
Nick Mullens
Kiko Alonso
Takkarist McKinley
Ezekiel Ansah

Let all other un-named FA walk. However, I don't think a total rebuild is necessary. There are a number of "our guys" going into FA who I think should be resigned that will keep this team competitive. I know we cannot keep everyone, but we're gonna have to bring a lot of those guys back if we wanna remain competitive rather than relying on a bunch of cheap vet replacements and rookies that need to be coached up. Otherwise lets just call it a full rebuild and get it over with. But the must-stay's are, in my mind, critical to remaining competitive in 2021, especially with guys like Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, George Kittle, Raheem Mostert, and some rotational pieces all coming back healthy next season. I am praying that we draft a QB with our first pick, and fully expect for Shanny and Lynch to bring in a veteran QB to force an honest QB competition. So I see us carrying 3 QB's.

I'm completely out on Jimmy G. My only worry with that is the the QB's slated to hit the street in 2021 isn't that promising outside of Dak Prescott, even with the injury.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/quarterback/

But Dak would be problematic because no team that brings him in is realistically drafting a QB with their first pick, or at all. He's gonna command a big contract. So bringing in Dak means that we likely resign/tender Mullens and cut Jimmy, because Jimmy isn't winning a QB competition with a QB we just gave a bunch of money too. (But he's not better than Dak Prescott, so he wouldn't win it anyway.)

So the way I see it we go get Robert Griffin III or Jameis Winston as one year rentals to compete with Jimmy while the rookie redshirts.

Bold are who I'd bring back, Mullens and Moseley are RFAs they'll get tendered at 2nd rd level, if Taysom Hill got the 1st rd tender than Mullens will get 2nd rd. Brunskill is a ERFA, not going anywhere. Hasty is signed for 2021. Agreed on must goes, but I see them keeping Cracraft on a 1yr ERFA tender for camp. Trent, Juice, K'Waun, Jones, Verrett, Hyder are must signs, Bourne if price is right, Gould is signed for 2021 and 2022. Dwelley, Wilson, Harris and Pepper can be back on 1yr $920K deals. All are RFAs only Wilson is worth tendering.

No to Ansah, Alonso, and Takk failed his physical.

Jennings will be back on a reserve/futures deal with the other practice squaders.

I'm 50/50 on Garland and Blair, Garland looks overmatched, and Blair has yet to play a down this season.

No Givens or Street? Both have played well, also Mullens will be tendered as a RFA. K'Waun should be back, top 3 Slot CB. I have no faith in James, 1 good game in his career, then has a muff punt that cost us points, no thanks. Bourne if price is cheap enough. Woerner stays he's a solid blocking TE, want Reed back if he doesn't retire. Dwelley on a minimum 1yr deal. Flannigan-Fowles and Al-Shaair for camp. Draft a LB or 2. Pepper at LS should be back, better than Nelson was, and Kyle won't use a positional player as LS he aslready said he's against that. McKivitz will be back. I fear Laken will too. I'd try to get Dee to take a pay cut. Same with Richburg.
Leaving out the exclusive and restricted FAs the only ones I want back are.
Trent William's
Jordan Reed
Kerry Hyder
Jason Verrett
K'Waun Williams
Kyle Juszczyk
DJ Jones

Juice would be a luxury keeper. I would use his cap towards another teams unfortunate cuts
Jimmy G is gonna stay.

Juice is worth every penny, he makes the run game work so well, without him last yr Dwelley was ok, but we struggled.

Probably, he has a no trade clause apparently in 2021, unless he waives it, not sure what we could even get as compensation.

Was worth every penny. He's not helping out this year and now, not even in some offensive series
