anyone completely sick of these restrictions and feel they're completely unjustified at this point? I have to believe there are other fellow niner fans who feel this way. I know we live in a more liberal area where expressing this opinion is more problematic. But man, watching these college games in the south with fans, how does one not wonder just wtf is going on? Yea, I see public health officials scare mongering about CASES! but you'd have to rely solely on these pronouncements to even know something is going on at this point.

I mean we are in the middle of a pandemic in a country filled with selfish stupid idiots. Restrictions need to be in place other wise our healthcare system will be over ran. s**t it's getting overran even with these restrictions. We need more or we are in trouble.

We need a vaccine - it's coming soon.

Yeah, cuz shutting down contact sports for 3 weeks is really going to help the decrease the # of cases. This is nothing more than a power grab by the city of SC in their feud with the organization.

You sound like a Trump supporter with these wild allegations.

The virus is going to spread regardless of what color state you live in. Completely locking down only delays the spread. The idiots who create these restrictions have even been violating their own policies.
Wear a mask when in close quarters with people, practice social distancing and protect the most vulnerable.

You see the LA teams having these problems? The virus is just as prevalent in LA as it is in SC, probably even worse. Can you find any evidence that these sporting events are responsible for being major spreaders of this virus?
I wonder. If they go to reno will players and coaches save a bunch of money on taxes? Specifically ones who live out of state
There's already no one besides the teams and their staffs who are absolutely essential for a game, and maybe even a few who aren't, literally being allowed in the stadium. Every single one of these people are mandatorily tested for COVID-19 every single day. There's nothing more they can do to be any safer for a game.

Keep the politics out of the thread. For reals.

This thread should probably be closed lol or moved to the NFL covid thread. You literally can't discuss it without bringing them up.

Thats reasonable, but then you have people who don't wanna wear a mask. Granted, its probably a small number of people, but as long as measures like wearing masks and social distancing are seen as "taking away my freedom", then we're gonna have problems. But that's a whole lot I don't wanna get into.

As far as the NFL goes, its being reactionary like it always does. They had time to figure out something better than what we're getting, with games being moved all over the place and scheduling issues and what not. I'm not surprised SC is doing what its doing. I knew they'd be strict about Covid especially when it comes to the Niners because they don't like them. Sounds like the Niners weren't surprised either and had a plan. Just hope tgis whole thing starts to get figured out soon bc it's frustrating.

Sure you can.

This is b******t that SC county has this harsh a restriction on professional sports. I get the restriction for youth sports but these are professionals with top of the line testing. There are no fans in the stands so the risk of spread is the same as it has been in previous weeks.

This is another jab in the battle between the county and the 49ers. SC county has been one of the better counties when it comes to rate of infection so to see it impose one of the harshest restrictions seems unnecessary when you consider these are professional athletes who understand the risks.

Yeah f**k Santa Clara!! Wrong move to move the team there, nothing but problems since the team moved there.

They're also screwing the sharks, Stanford, and San Jose State. It's not like the 49ers are the only program that gets hit by this. The county is making a blanket ruling. No exceptions. I don't agree with it, but I get it.

Seen this coming from a mile away. Santa Clara hates the Niners so I knew they'd make it as hard as possible for the Niners to play. The Niners will probably be the last team allowed to play with fans depending on how long this goes on.
Spot on!
Santa Clara small time politicians can go eat it and puke thier guts out... Ahh.. relief
