Let me start by saying I am a fan of Jimmy sticking around for another year, barring Watson becoming available. But I compare jimmy to alex. Above average at times, butthe floor is usually no less than average. Jimmy or Alex can not stretch the field. AS career avg is about 7 yards, same as JG. But I trust them more often than not.

They are similar in a sense, but Jimmy at his best is the better QB. Time will tell if our front office moves off of him to try to try to improve the passing offense like Alex coaches have now twice.

They seem similar in a lot of ways. Alex was a better runner. I feel like Jimmy will gamble more, but also throw about twice as many picks.
I think Alex Smith has more passion for the game. Very few people would try and play after his injury. I think Jimmy has a higher ceiling, but will probably not get nearly as close to his as Alex did.
If you haven't watched Alex Smith Project 11 on ESPN do yourself a favor and watch it. It is super sad and truly inspiring. They may make a movie about him someday.

Alex had a train of balls chained around his ankles named Nolan, Singletary, Ray, Roman and yeah, even Harbaugh, that he had to drag around wherever he went.
Jimmy G has had angel wings attached to his shoulder pads his entire career.
I don't know where to start with that fact.

I have nothing to contribute to the comparison of JG to AS but I do wonder why anyone would want Watson. I still have no idea why he got the money he did and every single time I watch him I walk away disappointed. I may well be crazy but I just don't think he's a good QB and I could easily see him out of the league in 5 years.
This thread can absolutely be used to dismiss my raging blind hatred of the guy in the future. Just being honest in how I feel about him.
